About this role

OSenior Product Manager, Branch Networking & Security (NGFW)

Your Career

Help shape how enterprises deploy, manage, and secure their branch networks.

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Senior Product Manager to define and drive enterprise switching capabilities within our Network Security platform. You’ll bring together enterprise networking, cloud-managed infrastructure, and network security to create simpler, more intuitive experiences for network and security administrators.

You’ll own the product strategy, roadmap, and end-to-end switch management experience—from onboarding and provisioning to configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and decommissioning. Working closely with customers, engineering, UX, and field teams, you’ll translate complex networking requirements into scalable products with measurable customer impact.

This role combines technical depth in Layer 2 networking and enterprise switching with product leadership, customer discovery, and cross-functional execution.

Location

Santa Clara, California. Hybrid schedule with three days onsite and two days remote each week.

Your Impact

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle for enterprise switching capabilities within the Network Security platform.
  • Simplify deployment through Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP), cloud-managed enrollment, and guided setup.
  • Define configuration and management experiences across command-line interfaces (CLI), APIs, and graphical user interfaces.
  • Drive requirements for Layer 2 technologies, including VLANs, 802.1Q trunking, STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP, LLDP, MAC learning, multicast snooping, and quality of service (QoS).
  • Shape dashboards and troubleshooting workflows that surface network topology, link and device health, port utilization, VLAN state, and MAC/ARP tables.
  • Partner with engineering on network telemetry and management capabilities using technologies such as gNMI, OpenConfig, sFlow, and SNMP.
  • Engage enterprise customers, partners, and field teams to identify deployment challenges, validate opportunities, and prioritize customer needs.
  • Translate customer and market insights into product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and measurable success metrics.
  • Collaborate with engineering and UX throughout development to deliver reliable, scalable products and intuitive administrative workflows.
  • Partner with technical marketing, sales engineering, and go-to-market teams on positioning, launches, enablement, and strategic customer engagements.
  • Use customer feedback, product analytics, and operational data to measure adoption and guide roadmap decisions.
  • Apply AI and modern product-development tools to accelerate research, prototyping, analysis, and requirements development.

Your Experience

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in product management, technical product management, technical marketing, engineering leadership, or a related technical role.
  • 3+ years of experience with networking, enterprise switching, network management, or related infrastructure platforms.
  • Strong working knowledge of Layer 2 networking, including VLANs, 802.1Q trunking, spanning tree protocols, LACP, LLDP, MAC learning, and multicast behavior.
  • Experience with enterprise switching architectures and network operations.
  • Experience defining or managing infrastructure configuration through CLI, REST APIs, YANG-based APIs, or graphical management interfaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with engineering teams to define technical requirements and deliver complex networking or infrastructure products.
  • Experience conducting customer discovery and translating findings into prioritized requirements and roadmap decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using qualitative and quantitative data to inform product decisions.
  • Clear written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to customers, engineering teams, sales, and executive stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-managed networking or switching platforms, such as Arista CloudVision, Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco Meraki, or Juniper Mist.
  • Familiarity with EVPN/VXLAN, data center networking, or overlay networking technologies.
  • Experience with network telemetry and observability technologies, including gNMI, OpenConfig, sFlow, or SNMP.
  • Familiarity with network automation and infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Ansible or Terraform.
  • Experience developing network topology, device health, port utilization, or operational observability capabilities.
  • Experience taking networking or infrastructure products from concept through launch and adoption.
  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers, partners, sales engineering, or technical support teams.
