Ossify Technologies is a software development firm headquartered in Dayton, Ohio. We design, build, and maintain custom web and mobile applications for business clients across SaaS, fintech, health tech, commerce, and logistics. Our team is small and senior: the engineers who scope a project are the same engineers who build it, support it after launch, and are accountable for its performance in production.

Position Summary

Ossify Technologies is seeking a Frontend Engineer to develop and maintain client-facing web applications. The majority of our frontend work centers on React and TypeScript, building data-intensive interfaces, operational dashboards, complex tables, multi-step forms, and internal tools used throughout the business day.

Frontend Engineers collaborate closely with backend engineers and designers, and frequently serve as the primary technical point of contact for client discussions regarding interface requirements and implementation.

This is an individual contributor role with direct ownership of deliverables and direct client visibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production React/TypeScript applications across new feature work and long-term product maintenance
• Translate design specifications and client requirements into functional, resilient user interfaces
• Build and maintain reusable component libraries to support consistency across client engagements
• Integrate frontend applications with REST and GraphQL APIs, including state management for loading, error, and authentication conditions
• Identify and resolve interface performance issues, including rendering bottlenecks and inefficient data handling in large data sets
• Develop and maintain automated tests for critical functionality and participate in peer code review
• Communicate directly with clients to clarify requirements, review progress, and demonstrate delivered work
• Modernize legacy codebases inherited from prior engagements where full replacement is neither necessary nor advisable

Qualifications

Required:

• Three or more years of professional experience building production web applications with React
• Advanced proficiency with TypeScript; our frontend codebases are not written in JavaScript
• Strong command of CSS, including responsive layout design across mobile and desktop viewports
• Experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs, including pagination, error handling, and token-based authentication
• Ability to work on-site at our Dayton office several days per week; the role includes in-person collaboration and occasional client meetings
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing documentation

Preferred:

• Experience with Next.js or comparable React frameworks
• Working knowledge of GraphQL
• Familiarity with established component systems (Material UI, shadcn/ui) or experience maintaining a component library in Storybook
• Automated testing experience with Vitest, Jest, or Playwright
• Working knowledge of Node.js sufficient to diagnose issues across the API boundary
• Prior experience in fintech, health tech, logistics, or commerce domains

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range of $115,000 - 125,000 annually, determined by experience and qualifications
