About the Role

AHA Consulting Engineers is seeking a

Senior Mechanical Engineer

to lead HVAC and cooling system design for mission-critical facilities, including data centers. This role combines hands-on engineering, project leadership, client interaction, and team mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and mechanical systems for data centers and other mission-critical facilities
• Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system selection
• Develop construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and client relationships
• Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, and multidisciplinary teams
• Review designs, mentor junior engineers, and support QA/QC efforts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 8+ years of MEP consulting experience
• Strong HVAC design experience
• Project leadership experience
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, and/or Trane Trace
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills

Preferred

• PE License (not required)
• Data Center or Mission Critical experience
• Knowledge of Uptime Institute Tier standards
• LEED or sustainability experience
• Experience mentoring engineers
