Orbis Talent Partners is conducting a search for a Senior Full Stack Platform Engineer to join a newly formed financial technology venture building a loan origination and underwriting platform from the ground up.

About the Opportunity

This is a true greenfield environment with no legacy code or migration requirements . The platform architecture has already been established through ratified design decisions and detailed written specifications, making this an execution-focused build rather than a discovery project.

The platform is being developed by a small, highly capable engineering team operating with an AI-primary development model . AI will generate the majority of the code against established specifications, while engineers remain responsible for technical decisions, rigorous code review, and the quality of everything that ships.

This is an opportunity to serve as a technical anchor on a new platform , with significant ownership over engineering execution and architecture.

The Role

The Senior Full Stack Platform Engineer will lead engineering execution and code-review standards across the platform.

This individual will own:

• A deterministic decision engine requiring complete traceability and byte-identical replay
• A Temporal-based origination pipeline spanning application through loan closing
• Technical execution against established platform specifications
• Review and oversight of AI-generated code
• Engineering quality, maintainability, testing, and production readiness

The technology stack includes

TypeScript, Node. js, Fastify, React, AWS CDK, ECS Fargate, Aurora PostgreSQL, S3, and Temporal

, within a strict monorepo environment.

Kubernetes is not used.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Deep TypeScript expertise

across Node. js, Fastify, React, AWS CDK, and strict monorepo environments. Deep expertise—not simply senior-level familiarity—is essential.

• Experience building or working deeply with

interpreters, compilers, expression evaluators, or rules engines

, with a strong understanding of deterministic execution, traceability, and reproducible replay.

• Experience designing

long-running, failure-resilient workflows

using Temporal or a comparable platform, including retries, state transitions, and idempotency.

• An

API-contract-first

approach and the ability to translate established specifications into reliable, maintainable, and well-tested production systems.

• Strong hands-on

AWS and PostgreSQL

expertise, including infrastructure as code, ECS Fargate, Aurora PostgreSQL, S3, schema design, and performance optimization.

• Experience using

agentic coding tools

effectively and building systems with agentic workflows.

• The judgment to rigorously review AI-generated code while maintaining ownership of engineering quality and daily execution.
• Strong architectural judgment and the ability to operate as a senior technical owner within a small, highly capable engineering team.
