Senior Software Developer

Secret Security clearance required

Education: Master’s degree in Computer and Information Technology, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or another related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience demonstrating expertise in software development duties aligned with the position.
• At least 5 of those years must involve specialized Department of Defense (DoD) experience supporting Naval Aviation systems and related support equipment.

Permitted substitution

A relevant bachelor’s degree plus 4 additional years of experience may substitute for the master’s degree.

Position requires an advance level Software Developer, responsible for designing/developing new features, making software modifications, and fixing defects. Also, this person will participate in requirement development. All work will be done in a highly collaborative environment using Agile methodologies.

• Software development in an Agile environment
• Address software defects and change requests
• Develop technical reports and documentation
• Adherence to Information Assurance standards
• Unit test and integration documentation development and execution
• Support configuration management processes
• Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation
• Analyze, specify, design, develop, code, test, integrate and document software modules, systems, and subsystems to provide new functional capabilities and improve existing systems in support of Government Software Systems development.
• Perform reverse engineering of software components and systems to support vulnerability and exploitation analysis. Adhere to open standards and modern software development methodologies, including what are considered ‘best’ practices by the industry. This also includes rapid prototyping to meet time critical requirements.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

• 6+ years of Java or .Net development experience
• Experience working with tools/technologies such as Maven, GIT, and RHEL
• Be able to decipher and gather requirements for customer approval of application changes
• Create/describe work activity estimates, progress and issues
• Proven history of authoring and updating documentation and templates for the Agile Software Development Lifecycle
• Ability to perform as a liaison between the team and the customer in addressing Agile development concepts and lessons learned efficiencies
• Foster positive work relationships with customers, co-workers, and visitors
• Expert problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to describe technical implementations
• Organize work activities to ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities
• Advanced level .NET (Required)
• Mid level SQL Server
• Advanced level JAVA - Spring (preferred)
• Mid level Angular (preferred)

Pay: $106.15 per hour
