Staff Accountant

We're an owner-led group of Central Florida businesses, including a commercial landscape maintenance company, a commercial landscape construction company and a restaurant franchise. We're looking for a Staff Accountant to own the month-end close for both landscape companies and support the close for our affiliated management company, working directly with our VP of Finance.

What you'll do

• Run the monthly close for our businesses: reconciliations, journal entries, accruals and close checklist
• Reconcile our field service software (Aspire) to QuickBooks Desktop
• Prepare over/under (WIP) schedules and review percent-complete construction billing
• Support construction pay applications (AIA G702/G703, GCPay, Procore, Textura) and track lien waivers
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and post entries for our affiliated management company
• Prepare draft monthly P&Ls for review
• Coordinate close tasks with operations, invoicing and purchasing staff

What you bring

• 3+ years of accounting experience, with 2+ years doing month-end close
• Strong QuickBooks (Desktop preferred) and solid Excel skills
• Experience in landscaping, construction or field services strongly preferred
• Aspire experience is a big plus
• Understanding of accrual and percent-of-completion accounting
• Detail-oriented, organized and comfortable working across more than one company
