About this role

Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.

**About nurturie**

nurturie is a pediatric occupational therapy and academic support practice serving families across New York City, Connecticut, and New Jersey. We help children build independence and confidence in the places where they live and learn, through care in homes, schools, and community settings.

nurturie was founded by pediatric OT Anastasiya Akay, whose experience spans schools, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and home care. She remains directly involved in care and family relationships.

Our work connects treatment and learning to everyday challenges: getting dressed, participating in play, organizing schoolwork, or managing a difficult routine. Caregivers learn why an activity matters and how to use a strategy in their own environment. Tutoring is available independently or alongside OT, with coordination where it is useful for the child.

**What we are building**

We are growing nurturie while preserving direct relationships with families and the professionals who work with them. As we add capacity, our next priorities are more consistent introductions, handoffs, family check\-ins, and clinical support. Team members will have a voice in those processes through their experience and feedback.

**About the role**

We are adding a pediatric OT to serve Manhattan families seeking after\-school care. You will build ongoing relationships with a small initial caseload, using your clinical judgment to adapt treatment and help caregivers support progress. Additional assignments depend on demand, fit, and availability.

**Why join nurturie**

You will work directly with Anastasiya for case discussions, clinical and professional support, and feedback, with independence to plan and adapt your sessions. You will see how a child uses skills in daily life and bring those observations into treatment. Your perspective can also help improve how we introduce therapists to families, communicate progress, and support clinicians as nurturie grows.

**What you will do**

  • Plan and deliver individualized sessions based on each child’s strengths, needs, interests, and treatment goals.
  • Adapt activities to homes and other everyday settings, including limited space or equipment and changes in engagement.
  • Build trust with children, parents, nannies, and other caregivers; explain the purpose of activities in accessible language.
  • Invite caregiver participation when clinically appropriate and offer practical strategies for daily routines.
  • Complete timely clinical documentation in SimplePractice. In progress discussions, generally every six to eight weeks, compare observations with caregivers and update goals as needed.
  • Coordinate with teachers and other providers when appropriate and with family consent. Communicate scheduling changes and clinical concerns promptly.

**How we work together**

Anastasiya will join you on your initial evaluations for support, and you will own the care plan development and delivery end to end, including ongoing treatment, caregiver education, and progress reviews. Introductions, case information, and any joint evaluation attendance will be agreed during onboarding. We value sound judgment and expect you to raise questions when a situation is unfamiliar or a plan needs to change.

**What you bring**

  • An active New York OT license and registration, with experience independently planning and delivering pediatric treatment. Two or more years of pediatric experience is required.
  • Sound clinical judgment, clear written communication, dependable follow\-through, and openness to feedback. You know when to seek consultation.
  • Recurring after\-school availability and willingness to travel within agreed Manhattan neighborhoods. Home\-based experience is helpful; relevant school or clinic experience is welcome.
  • Schedule and working arrangements
  • Sessions typically begin around 4 p.m.; some families request later times. Discuss your latest available start time and travel radius with us and we will match your preferences.
  • Compensation included for cancellations and admin time. Starting assignments and schedule will be confirmed before accepting cases.

**How to apply**

Apply here, email info@nurturie. com with the subject Pediatric OT, or message Anastasiya on LinkedIn directly! Please include your resume, recurring availability, and a short introduction describing the pediatric work you most enjoy.
