At Nouryon, we create innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers to answer society’s needs – today and in the future.

We are looking for team members who bring ideas forward, champion others, and work together to do better. Does that sound like you?

About the Job

-----------------

Are you a financially minded, tech-savvy professional who enjoys analyzing costs, turning data into insights, and finding smarter ways to work?

We’re looking for a Financial Analyst – Logistics & Procurement to support financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and cost management across Logistics and Procurement. In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Procurement, helping the organization understand cost drivers, improve financial visibility, identify savings opportunities, and make better business decisions.

A key focus will be analyzing logistics and freight costs, supporting budgets and forecasts, and improving financial reporting. You’ll also help us move away from manual reporting toward more automated, scalable, and data-driven processes.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with tools such as Palantir/Foundry, Power BI, SAP, Business Warehouse, Anaplan, and AI tools like Claude to streamline analysis, improve reporting, and develop new analytics capabilities.

If you enjoy combining financial analysis, technology, and continuous improvement to drive business results, this is a great opportunity to grow your skills and make a meaningful impact.

In your future role as Financial Analyst – Logistics & Procurement, you will:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Financial Analysis & Cost Management

  • Analyze freight and logistics costs, shipment volumes, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, explain variances, and recommend improvements.
  • Track cost savings and cost leakage, helping identify opportunities to improve financial performance and measure results.
  • Analyze cost drivers, master data, and operational performance using SAP, Business Warehouse, Power BI, and other data sources.
  • Partner with Logistics, Procurement, and Finance teams to provide financial insights that support business decisions.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Reporting

  • Support the logistics price forecasting process in collaboration with Logistics Procurement and Finance, ensuring accurate and timely forecasts.
  • Support functional cost budgets and rolling forecasts, including updates in Anaplan and analysis of cost drivers and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare dashboards, reports, graphs, and presentations for month-end reviews and business meetings.
  • Support month-end accounting activities, including journal entries, open purchase order (PO) analysis, and SOX-related controls and checks.

Data, Reporting & Technology

  • Manage global freight data, including shipment volumes, freight costs, and related KPIs, ensuring data accuracy and visibility in Palantir/Foundry.
  • Build and improve dashboards and reports to strengthen cost transparency and performance monitoring.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve data quality, and leverage technology and AI to make reporting and analysis more efficient.

Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional

Support

  • Participate in Lean Six Sigma (L6S) projects and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support sustainability reporting and ad hoc projects for Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain, and Commercial Services leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve processes, strengthen reporting, and develop new analytics capabilities.

We believe you bring

------------------------

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial/Process Engineering, or another related discipline. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, or a related field.
  • Financial and analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze costs, understand financial drivers, investigate variances, and translate data into actionable business insights.
  • Systems and tools: Experience working with SAP, Business Warehouse, and Excel.
  • Communication and collaboration: Ability to communicate findings clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams across Finance, Accounting, Logistics, and Procurement.
  • Continuous improvement: A proactive mindset, with the ability to challenge existing processes, identify opportunities, and help drive change in a dynamic environment.

It would be a plus if you also have:

  • Experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, or management reporting.
  • Experience with Power BI, Cost Tracker, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Palantir/Foundry or similar data and analytics platforms.
  • Experience using AI tools such as Claude to improve reporting, financial analysis, automation, or productivity.
  • An interest in learning new technologies and finding innovative ways to improve business processes.
