Job description

About this role

Clinical Director, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Northwest Healing & Wellness / Northwest Ketamine Clinics · Bellevue, Seattle and Tacoma

  • Full-time. About 50% patient care, 50% admin and leadership.
  • Base pay: $190,000 to $215,000 a year, plus phantom equity with profit share
  • Reports to the CEO
  • Requires PMHNP-BC and a Washington ARNP license by start date

We're hiring a psychiatric nurse practitioner to lead the clinical side of our three-clinic interventional psychiatry practice, including a busy IV ketamine service, and to build two new programs: Spravato and TMS.

The position is a roughly even split between direct patient care and leadership: setting clinical standards, training the team, getting Spravato to steady volume, launching TMS, and building referral relationships. You'll report to the CEO and work as a peer to operations leadership.

Who we are

Northwest Healing & Wellness specializes in treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, and related conditions at clinics in Bellevue, Seattle (First Hill), and Tacoma. We're a family-run practice. Our IV ketamine practice was the first ketamine clinic in Washington (operating since 2017 as Northwest Ketamine Clinics) and has delivered more than 50,000 infusions.

What we offer today:

  • Spravato (esketamine), REMS-certified at all three clinics
  • Psychiatric medication management
  • IV ketamine infusions
  • IV nutritional therapy

We're in-network with Regence and Cigna, and in process with several other carriers. TMS launches within the next 6 to 12 months, and hormone therapy (focused on mental health and wellness, not as a stand-alone service) is in development.

First-year goals

  • Spravato at steady volume. The program is live and in-network at all three clinics, and it's early. The team is already delivering at the highest quality, under the clinical direction of one of our current PMHNPs. Under your leadership and clinical direction, we will expand our reach and patient numbers.
  • Build TMS from the ground up. Clinical protocols, patient selection, staff training, and launch.
  • A referral network. You'll build working relationships with therapists, psychiatrists, primary care practices, and behavioral health groups in King and Pierce counties, so more patients come to us through clinicians who know our work. In those conversations, you're the clinical voice of the practice. This may include conference booths and presentations.
  • One clinical standard across three clinics. Policies, protocols, quality review, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Most is in place, but needs to grow along with us.
  • A stronger team. Training, onboarding, mentoring, and hiring support.

The patient care half

You'll keep a panel of your own: psychiatric evaluations, IV ketamine patients, medication management, and Spravato care. Roughly half your time is clinical, so you stay close to the work you're leading.

This is not a heavy patient load position. You will maintain clinical practice but will have time to get to know your patients and make a real impact in many lives. There is no productivity quota.

Requirements

  • Board certification as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • An active Washington ARNP license with prescriptive authority by your start date
  • DEA registration, or eligibility to register in Washington before your start date
  • At least three years of practice as a PMHNP
  • Leadership experience: formal management is preferred, but other types of leadership will be considered.
  • Ability to work at all three clinics on a rotating basis

Helpful, not required

  • Experience with Spravato, ketamine, or TMS
  • Experience launching a new program or service line
  • Referral development or community outreach
  • Multi-site or outpatient psychiatric practice
  • Clinical policy writing or quality improvement
  • Current ACLS

If you meet the required list and only some of the rest, please apply.

Pay and benefits

  • Base pay: $190,000 to $215,000 a year, depending on experience.
  • Phantom equity with profit share: You'll receive phantom equity units in both of our practice entities. Units vest in thirds on the first, second, and third anniversaries of your grant date. Vested units receive a share of profit payouts and a payout based on company value if ownership changes. Units are tied to continued employment. Phantom equity is a contractual right to payments, not stock ownership. Final terms are set by the written plan and your award agreement.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance:
  • Medical: 75% of employee individual premium paid
  • Dental: 100% of employee individual premium paid
  • Vision: 100% of employee individual premium paid
  • Retirement plan: 401K - 4% company matching
  • Malpractice insurance paid by the practice
  • Paid CME leave of 1 week, CME Annual Allowance: $1,500, plus reimbursement of license and DEA fees
  • Paid time off: 3 Weeks PTO Annually and paid holidays: 6 + 1 floating holiday

Schedule and locations

Monday through Friday, daytime hours (four 10-hour days may be considered). You'll split your time across Bellevue, Seattle, and Tacoma on a flexible rotating basis.

What this job is like

We're a small practice. You'll work directly with the owner and have a real say in how programs are built, with less infrastructure than you'd find in a larger health system. You'll work with rapid-acting treatments and watch patients improve on a timeline most psychiatric care can't match.
