About this role

About the Role

ALNA Management, a Dallas–Fort Worth real estate investment and property management firm, is seeking a hands-on Controller to own the accounting for our portfolio of entities — single-family rentals, multifamily communities, our property management company, and related holding entities.

This is the senior accounting seat in the company: you will own the books end to end, with your work reviewed by our senior reviewer, and you will have a junior accountant working under you.

This is a build-and-grow role. You will start hands-on in the books, and over time you will help us build out and oversee a back-office support team, shifting your own focus from producing entries to owning accuracy, process, and the financial operation. We are looking for someone who is both a strong accountant and an operator — someone who can run the numbers today and build the function for tomorrow.

What You'll Do

● Own full-cycle accounting across all company entities — property-owning LLCs (single-family and multifamily) and the property management company

● Manage the general ledger, AP/AR, bank and account reconciliations, intercompany entries, and month-end close across entities

● Produce accurate monthly financial statements per entity

● Work within our review process — all work is reviewed by our senior reviewer

● Supervise and develop a junior accountant

● Help build and eventually oversee a back-office support team (including offshore) — moving toward owning exception handling, accuracy, and process rather than data entry

● Partner with ownership and operations on financial reporting, controls, and process improvement

What We're Looking For

● REQUIRED: strong full-cycle accounting experience owning the books for multiple entities — you have personally run the GL, close, and financial statements across several companies, not a single set of books

● REQUIRED: advanced QuickBooks

● Real estate / property management accounting experience strongly preferred (Buildium, ResMan, AppFolio, or Yardi a plus — trainable)

● Demonstrated ability to build process and improve systems, and to review and develop other accounting staff — not just produce entries

● Operational mindset: comfortable owning accuracy and process, and growing into managing a team

● Highly reliable and consistent — this is the seat the whole accounting function depends on

● Able to work in-office in Plano, TX every scheduled day (this role is not remote)

Compensation & Details

● $75,000–$100,000 per year, depending on experience

● Full-time, in-office in Plano, TX

● W-2 employee

● Benefits: paid time off; health insurance (company pays 50%)

How to Apply

Please reply with your resume and a brief note describing the entities and books you have personally owned — how many companies, what kind, which accounting and property management software, and your experience building process or managing other accounting staff. We respond promptly to candidates we are moving forward with.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off

Work Location: In person
