Quality Assurance Analyst – Regulatory Technology

We’re looking for a detail-driven Quality Assurance Analyst who takes pride in finding what others miss.

In this role, you’ll support technology used by a major New York State regulatory organization overseeing highly regulated industries.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into applications, challenging assumptions, catching issues before they reach production, and helping teams deliver technology that people can trust.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work closely with project managers, developers, and business stakeholders to help ensure new features, application changes, and releases perform as expected.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop comprehensive test plans based on business and technical requirements
  • Write clear, detailed test cases and test scripts
  • Perform manual testing across business applications
  • Execute unit, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing
  • Identify, document, track, and prioritize defects using Jira
  • Retest resolved defects and validate that fixes work as intended
  • Design and execute manual and automated testing approaches for new features and releases
  • Build and maintain regression test suites to reduce production issues
  • Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and unexpected application behavior
  • Partner with developers early in the development lifecycle to help define acceptance criteria and testable requirements
  • Track defects through resolution and communicate testing status clearly to project stakeholders
  • Help establish and monitor QA metrics such as defect escape rates, test coverage, and time-to-detect.

What We’re Looking For

You should be someone who genuinely enjoys quality assurance—not simply running through a checklist, but understanding how a system is supposed to work and looking closely enough to recognize when something isn’t right.

Required experience includes:

  • At least

3 years of experience using Jira

for defect tracking, bug management, or test management

  • At least

5 years of experience performing software testing

, including unit, integration, UAT, regression, and system testing

  • At least

2 years of QA experience in an Agile environment

  • At least

5 years of experience writing test scripts and test cases

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to clearly document defects, testing results, and potential risks
  • Eligibility to work in New York State

Why This Role Matters

The applications you test support an organization responsible for oversight of some of New York’s most important and highly regulated industries.

Your work helps make sure systems are reliable, changes are properly tested, issues are identified before they become larger problems, and technology teams can release software with confidence.

If you’re the person who notices the missing field, catches the edge case, asks “what happens if…?” and wants your QA work to have a real operational impact, you’ll feel at home in this role.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work environment
  • Up to

50% remote work

may be available based on management approval

  • Office is accessible by public transportation
  • Parking is not provided

Application Requirement

Qualified candidates will be asked to provide:

  • A current resume
  • A sample test script personally created by the candidate
