About this role
Job Description: Technology Project Manager
Company Overview: NextAmp is a digital modernization services company focused on transforming the insurance industry. We help insurance organizations redesign their workflows and build AI-powered, automated systems that improve efficiency and accuracy. Our solutions streamline key operational areas such as claims processing, underwriting, billing, and back-office operations.
Job Type
Contract/Full Time
Location: Boston, Massachusetts, Hybrid
Experience level: 5+ years
Role Overview : We are seeking a Technology Program Manager who understands technology, not a technologist who does some project management. You can hold credible conversations with engineers and security reviewers, but you don't write the code; your strengths are structure, detail, and communication. We need someone who sets the cadence and drives outcomes across teams they don't directly manage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stand up the program in the first weeks: an inventory of in-scope applications with owners and points of contact, the information needed from each team, and a kickoff plan that defines who owns what
- Lead stakeholder conversation with a plan, not open-ended questions: what we know, what we need, and how we propose to proceed
- Work daily with the client's program manager, and run the working cadence across application teams and delivery partners so they report into a single program view
- Build and maintain the program tracker and dashboard, covering fix patterns in progress, pull requests raised, adoption by client teams, and vulnerabilities resolved
- Keep the risk and dependency log current, and raise blockers early, such as pull requests waiting on another team or patterns not yet adopted, with a proposal to resolve them
- Coordinate NextAmp's engineers across US and India time zones so their work lines up with client priorities and the program's phases
- Keep work in the client's ticketing and assignment system (ServiceNow) consistent with the program plan
- Prepare concise, executive-ready updates for the client sponsor and steering meetings, with clear ownership of every outcome.
Key Qualifications
- 8+ years of program or project management in enterprise technology, including programs that spanned multiple teams or vendors
- A record of building program governance from scratch: plans, trackers, RACI, risk and dependency logs, status reporting, and steering meetings
- Experience leading through influence across internal teams and third-party system integrators, without direct authority
- Solid understanding of software delivery: repositories, pull requests, code review, CI/CD, and test and release gates
- Working knowledge of application security programs, including SAST and SCA findings, severity, remediation SLAs, and how a finding moves to a fix
- Strong attention to detail, and proactive, clear communication in writing and in person, including with senior executives
- Experience with distributed onshore and offshore teams, particularly between the US and India
- Hands-on use of ServiceNow, Jira, or Azure DevOps, and of dashboard and reporting tools such as Power BI or SharePoint.
Nice to have
- Experience on a vulnerability management or security remediation program
- Exposure to AI-assisted development such as GitHub Copilot, and to Java application environments
- Insurance or financial services experience
Note: This role may require you to visit the Boston office up to three times per month.
Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
