About this role
About Us
Next-Gen Buildings and Next-Gen Building Supply are sister companies based in Assumption, IL. Next-Gen Buildings is a general contracting company specializing in barndominiums, pole barns, and residential construction. Next-Gen Building Supply is a lumberyard and building supply store opening soon in the same town.
We’re a small, fast-growing team, and we’re looking for someone to become the operational backbone of both businesses.
The Role
This is a right-hand position to the owners. You’ll start by owning the books and the day-to-day admin, and as the store opens, you’ll take on a leading role in running it. If you like being the person who keeps everything organized and moving, and you want to grow with a company rather than sit in one lane, this is for you.
What You’ll Do
- Handle day-to-day bookkeeping: entering bills and invoices, reconciling accounts, tracking job costs, and managing AP/AR
- Work with our outside CPA on month-end, taxes, and financial reporting
- Manage purchase orders, vendor accounts, and contractor credit accounts
- Keep schedules, deadlines, and paperwork on track for the owners
- Handle customer and vendor communication as needed
- Help set up store systems, inventory, and processes ahead of opening
- Grow into managing store operations and staff once the store is open
What We’re Looking For
- Solid bookkeeping experience (required)
- CPA or accounting degree strongly preferred
- Highly organized, dependable, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities
- Comfortable with software; we use Zoho Books, Rundoo POS, QuickBooks, and Microsoft
- Construction, lumberyard, or retail experience is a big plus
- Someone who takes ownership and doesn’t need to be told what to do next
Pay: $45,000.00 - $69,600.00 per year
Benefits:
- Employee discount
- Paid time off
Work Location: In person
