Job description

About this role

New Leaf Tree is a growing, family-owned tree service company serving Coweta, Fayette, and surrounding counties. We take pride in delivering quality work, maintaining high safety standards, and building a dependable team that represents our company with professionalism and integrity.

We are seeking an experienced Field Operations Manager to take ownership of our daily field operations. This individual will be responsible for crew accountability, job site efficiency, equipment maintenance oversight, and ensuring company procedures are consistently followed.

This is a leadership position that requires knowledge of tree service operations, strong organizational skills, and the ability to step in and assist crews when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Field Operations & Crew Management

  • Ensure all crew members arrive on time, prepared, and ready to work.
  • Lead morning crew meetings and communicate daily job assignments and expectations.
  • Verify daily checklists, vehicle inspections, and equipment inspections are completed accurately.
  • Ensure crews have the proper equipment, tools, and materials before leaving for job sites.
  • Monitor job progress and keep crews productive, organized, and on schedule.
  • Coordinate staffing adjustments when crew members are absent, including filling in or finding appropriate coverage.
  • Address employee performance, attendance, and accountability concerns.
  • Communicate daily operational updates and concerns directly to ownership.

Equipment & Preventative Maintenance

  • Oversee maintenance schedules for company trucks, trailers, lifts, loaders, chippers, chainsaws, and other equipment.
  • Ensure daily and scheduled inspections are completed and documented.
  • Monitor equipment condition and identify potential mechanical issues before they cause downtime.
  • Coordinate repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained, and stored properly.
  • Hold crew members accountable for proper equipment operation and care.

Job Site Oversight & Quality Control

  • Ensure crews follow company procedures, safety protocols, and job site checklists.
  • Monitor job site efficiency, productivity, and quality of work.
  • Ensure job sites are properly cleaned and customer property is respected.
  • Assist crews with operational challenges and problem-solving.
  • Verify jobs are completed to company standards.
  • Step into field operations when additional manpower is needed.

Safety & Company Standards

  • Enforce company safety policies and industry best practices.
  • Ensure employees use required personal protective equipment.
  • Identify and address unsafe work practices immediately.
  • Maintain accountability for vehicle, equipment, and job site safety.
  • Promote a professional, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

  • Professional tree service industry experience required.
  • Previous experience as a crew leader, foreman, or operations supervisor preferred.
  • Strong understanding of tree removal operations and specialized equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
  • Proven ability to lead employees and maintain accountability.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
  • Willingness and ability to assist with physical fieldwork when needed.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities and doesn't need constant supervision.

Someone who notices when equipment needs attention, when employees aren't following procedures, or when a job is falling behind—and takes action to correct it.

Our ideal candidate is a strong leader who is organized, dependable, proactive, and capable of keeping our field operations running smoothly while maintaining the standards and values of New Leaf Tree.

What We Offer

  • Full-time, long-term career opportunity
  • Leadership position within a growing company
  • Supportive, family-owned work environment
  • Opportunity to make a direct impact on company operations and growth
  • Compensation based on qualifications and experience

If you have extensive tree service experience and the leadership skills to keep a crew organized, productive, and accountable, we encourage you to apply!

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Application Question(s):

  • How many years of experience do you have supervising or managing a service based crew?
