About this role

Your impact

Timely assessment and coordinated care help patients and families make informed decisions and support safer transitions between care settings.

Duties

  • Assess patients, monitor vital signs, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns using appropriate emergency response procedures.
  • Administer medications, injections, and intravenous (IV) infusions; perform IV insertion, catheter care, tube feeding, and other procedures within your scope and training.
  • Develop and update care plans; support pain management, infection control, patient education, and discharge or case management.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in electronic health record (EHR) or electronic medical record (EMR) systems, following privacy requirements such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Coordinate with clinicians and support staff across applicable settings, including acute care, primary care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, home care, hospice, and long-term care.

Qualifications

  • Active registered nurse license required; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required where applicable.
  • Demonstrated nursing, patient assessment, medication administration, medical documentation, and anatomy and physiology knowledge.
  • Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems, including Epic or Cerner, is useful; knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic evaluation is valued.
  • Relevant experience in areas such as critical care, intensive care unit (ICU), emergency room, pediatrics, labor and delivery, telemetry, dialysis, or post-acute care is preferred.
  • Additional experience with ophthalmology, cardiac catheterization, behavioral health, memory care, developmental disabilities, occupational health, coding, or other listed specialties is welcome—not required.
