Job description

About this role

NavigatorCRE is a SaaS platform that delivers commercial real estate data, reporting, and analytics to enterprise clients. We bring together data from property management systems, leasing platforms, financials, and operations, and turn it into reporting that owners, operators, and investors use to run their portfolios.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior BI Developer who understands how analytics is built from the ground up: where the data comes from, how it should be modeled, and how business logic turns raw data into numbers clients trust.

This is a client-facing role. You will be on calls with clients regularly, answering questions about their data and reports, running quick working sessions, and making small updates live when it makes sense. You will work across several client accounts at the same time, so clear communication and confident Power BI skills matter as much as technical depth.

This is also an internal stakeholder- facing role. You will work side by side with client project managers and project leaders on client communications and strategy. You will also keep broader internal client teams up-to-date by maintaining assigned and created tasks on project boards and internal channels.

What You Will Do

  • Own client conversations. Join client calls, explain what the numbers mean and where they come from, and turn questions into clear next steps.
  • Run working sessions. Walk clients through dashboards, gather feedback, and make quick changes to reports and measures during or right after the call.
  • Design data models for analytics. Build clean, scalable semantic models (star schema, relationships, measures) that support reporting across multiple clients.
  • Translate business logic into analytics. Turn real estate and financial concepts into accurate, well-documented calculations in DAX and Power Query.
  • Understand the data sources. Work with client data from systems such as Yardi, MRI, and other property, leasing, and financial platforms, and map it into our standard data model.
  • Build and maintain Power BI reports. Deliver dashboards that are accurate, fast, and easy for executives and asset managers to use.
  • Publish and maintain in Microsoft Fabric. Manage workspaces, publish reports, and keep ETL pipelines and data refreshes running reliably.
  • Troubleshoot data issues. Trace a wrong number back to its source, whether it is a model, a measure, a pipeline, or the source data itself.
  • Maintain multiple projects. Keep several client engagements moving at once and keep both clients and the internal team informed.

What We Are Looking For

Must have

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in analytics, BI, or data reporting.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture for analytics: data models, data sources, and how business logic is applied to produce reliable metrics.
  • Advanced Power BI skills: data modeling, DAX, Power Query, report design, and publishing.
  • Background in real estate analytics, especially commercial real estate.
  • Familiarity with CRE concepts such as rent rolls, leasing, occupancy, NOI, budget vs. actuals, and lease expirations.
  • Excellent communication skills. You can explain data clearly to non-technical clients, handle questions on the spot, and lead a working session with confidence.
  • Comfortable being the face of analytics on client calls across several accounts at once.
  • Working knowledge of SQL. You do not need to be a database expert, but you should be able to

Big plus

  • Experience with property management or CRE data platforms (Yardi, MRI, or similar).
  • Experience working in a SaaS or client services environment with multiple customers.
  • query, validate, and understand data.
  • Familiarity with the Azure data stack (such as Azure SQL) and enough understanding to work alongside data engineers.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric for publishing reports and maintaining data pipelines and ETL refreshes.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
