Job Description: Technical Product Manager – Energy AI Platform

NAVIA Energy Inc. | San Jose, CA / Hybrid | Full-time

About NAVIA Energy

NAVIA Energy is developing an AI-native Energy Orchestration Platform that enables intelligent, autonomous operations of mission-critical energy infrastructure, including data centers, utility, microgrids, military installations, hospitals, and commercial and industrial facilities.

Our platform integrates AI Digital Twins, edge intelligence, predictive analytics, simulation, and autonomous optimization to coordinate distributed energy resources (DERs), renewable generation, battery energy storage, grid infrastructure, cooling systems, and flexible loads.

Our mission is to transform fragmented energy assets into intelligent, interconnected, and self-optimizing energy systems.

  • Define functional and technical product requirements.
  • Work with AI/ML teams on predictive models, optimization algorithms, and intelligent agents.
  • Define integration requirements across cloud, edge, hardware, and software platforms.
  • Drive interoperability with DERs, microgrids, batteries, inverters, meters, HVAC, and utility systems.
  • Incorporate cybersecurity, reliability, scalability, and real-time performance requirements.

3. Customer Discovery & Product Validation

  • Engage customers, partners, utilities, data center operators, and military infrastructure stakeholders.
  • Understand customer workflows, operational challenges, and unmet energy management needs.
  • Convert customer feedback into prioritized product requirements.
  • Define use cases, user journeys, acceptance criteria, and success metrics.
  • Support pilot deployments, product demonstrations, and customer validation.
  • Translate pilot results into product enhancements and commercialization opportunities.

4. Product Development & Execution

  • Own product backlogs, feature prioritization, and release planning.
  • Develop PRDs, user stories, functional specifications, and product acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate Agile development activities across software, AI/ML, cloud, and embedded engineering teams.
  • Track development milestones, dependencies, risks, and product quality.
  • Drive end-to-end product delivery from concept and prototype to production deployment.
  • Establish product performance metrics and continuous improvement processes.

  • Systems-level thinking with attention to product details.
  • Startup mentality with ownership and execution discipline.
  • Customer empathy with commercial and market awareness.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Equity participation may be considered
  • Opportunity to build and commercialize a next-generation AI platform.
  • Direct involvement in shaping products at the intersection of AI, energy, and autonomous infrastructure.

Recommended hiring profile for NAVIA

I recommend hiring a Technical Product Manager – AI & Energy Systems, rather than a conventional SaaS Product Manager.

The first product manager should have three particularly important capabilities:

1.

AI platform understanding

Digital twins, AI agents, optimization, simulation, data engineering, and edge intelligence.

2.

Energy systems understanding

DERs, microgrids, batteries, solar, grid integration, HVAC, and industrial controls.

3.

Product execution

Ability to turn NAVIA's technology stack into an integrated, deployable, customer-ready product.

We will Prioritize someone with 5–8 years of technical product experience who can work hands-on with a small engineering team, rather than a senior product executive focused primarily on strategy and organizational management.

This person should ultimately own the product evolution from individual NAVIA technology modules into one integrated AI Autonomous Energy Operations Platform.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Health insurance
