Technically interesting product line for the worldwide commercial ship, military ship and luxury yacht market sectors. Medium sized facility with design engineering, full manufacturing, assembly and testing operations on-site.

We are a dynamic team of professionals supplying our highly successful technology-based products worldwide. We are seeking an organized, efficient, self-starter with an enthusiastic attitude to join our Engineering team.

This position is located at Naiad Dynamics US, Inc. Shelton, Connecticut facility

Responsibilities

• Mechanical product / machine design, structural design and analysis
• Design and detailing of electro-hydraulic operated machinery, mechanical equipment and assemblies
• Design work in support of product revision, evolution and development
• Design of foundations or structures related to installation of equipment
• Design or configuration of underwater effectors (control surfaces)
• Other design related work as appropriate
• Prepare drawings, technical reports and documentation
• Occasional field support or calibration or commissioning of select systems
• Other duties reasonably assigned

Candidate Requirements

• BS Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering. MS beneficial
• Minimum 5 years prior machine design experience
• Highly Beneficial: Prior large equipment machine design and structures experience, such as CNC machine tool machining equipment
• 2D Drafting skills, AutoCAD preferred
• 3D Modeling skills, Solid Edge preferred
• Experience with structural analysis using FEA
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Design and specification of industrial and/or mobile hydraulic systems, circuits and components
• Manufacturing understanding as it relates to design engineering and/or concurrent engineering
• Experience and/or interest in marine industry
• Beneficial: Marine engineering, understanding of ships, stability or motion control
• Beneficial: Application of advanced materials including structural composites
• Authorized to work in US required
