About this role

Transportation & Warehouse Operations Manager

My Fit Foods | Houston, TX Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually + Monthly Performance Bonus Employment Type: Full-Time

The Opportunity

My Fit Foods is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Transportation & Warehouse Operations Manager to take ownership of our transportation, fleet management, driver safety, and warehouse receiving operations in Houston.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands how to keep vehicles road-ready, drivers accountable, deliveries on schedule, and warehouse operations running efficiently.

We're looking for an experienced operator who can evaluate existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, establish clear standards, and build systems that support our continued growth.

If you've successfully managed commercial delivery fleets, transportation teams, and warehouse operations, we want to talk to you.

About My Fit Foods

My Fit Foods is a growing fresh, ready-to-eat meal company built around one mission: Change Lives.

We prepare fresh, chef-crafted meals designed to make healthy eating convenient and sustainable.

As we expand our retail footprint and distribution operations, we need strong operational leaders who can help us maintain quality, consistency, efficiency, and accountability.

What You'll OwnTransportation & Fleet Management

  • Oversee daily transportation operations and ensure deliveries depart on schedule.
  • Manage our commercial delivery fleet, ensuring vehicles are properly inspected, maintained, and ready for daily operations.
  • Establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedules, including oil changes, tires, brakes, and necessary repairs.
  • Coordinate vehicle servicing, repair schedules, and maintenance documentation.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, fleet expenses, and overall vehicle performance.
  • Ensure drivers complete assigned routes safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Identify opportunities to improve routing, operational efficiency, and transportation costs.

Driver Safety & DOT Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements.
  • Oversee driver safety, vehicle inspections, and required documentation.
  • Maintain driver qualification files and fleet maintenance records, as applicable.
  • Monitor driving behaviors, safety violations, and operational risks.
  • Conduct routine safety meetings and driver training.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold drivers accountable for safe, professional performance.
  • Proactively address safety concerns before they become larger operational problems.

Warehouse Receiving & Inventory

  • Oversee daily receiving operations for food, ingredients, packaging, and supplies.
  • Coordinate incoming shipments from major food distributors, including US Foods, Ben E. Keith, and other vendors.
  • Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and receiving documentation.
  • Inspect deliveries for accuracy, product quality, damage, and proper temperatures.
  • Document shortages, damaged products, discrepancies, and rejected shipments.
  • Ensure products are properly stored, organized, and rotated.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and receiving records.
  • Partner with purchasing and kitchen leadership to ensure products arrive accurately and on time.

Leadership & Operational Accountability

  • Lead and manage transportation and warehouse employees.
  • Establish clear daily expectations, operating procedures, and performance standards.
  • Manage employee schedules, attendance, productivity, and accountability.
  • Develop and improve standard operating procedures across transportation, fleet safety, and warehouse receiving.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement practical solutions.
  • Monitor costs and recommend improvements that strengthen performance.
  • Work directly with company leadership and kitchen operations to support expanding production and distribution needs.

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in transportation, fleet management, logistics, or distribution operations.
  • Proven experience managing commercial delivery vehicles and drivers.
  • Strong knowledge of preventative vehicle maintenance, safety inspections, and fleet operations.
  • Working knowledge of applicable DOT regulations and transportation compliance.
  • Experience managing warehouse receiving, inventory, and distribution operations.
  • Experience supervising employees, establishing standards, and driving accountability.
  • Familiarity with transportation, fleet tracking, and inventory management systems.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and operational leadership skills.

Highly Preferred

  • Experience in food distribution, refrigerated transportation, or food manufacturing.
  • Experience overseeing multi-vehicle delivery operations.
  • Familiarity with food receiving standards, temperature-sensitive products, and inventory controls.
  • Experience improving operational efficiency and controlling transportation and warehouse expenses.

Who Will Succeed Here

We're looking for someone who takes ownership.

Someone who doesn't wait to be told that a vehicle needs maintenance, a delivery is behind schedule, or a receiving process needs improvement.

The right person will:

  • Lead from the floor: Be actively involved in daily operations rather than managing exclusively from a desk.
  • Take accountability: Own results, solve problems, and follow through.
  • Operate with urgency: Understand that delays in transportation and receiving affect the entire business.
  • Build structure: Establish procedures, expectations, and consistent inspection routines.
  • Lead people: Coach employees, address performance issues, and create a culture of accountability.
  • Think ahead: Identify risks and operational challenges before they become problems.

Most importantly, we want someone who has done this successfully before and can confidently take ownership of these operations with minimal supervision.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually, based on experience.
  • Monthly performance bonus.
  • Full benefits following the introductory period.
  • Full-time leadership opportunity.
  • Growth and advancement opportunities as My Fit Foods expands.
  • The opportunity to help strengthen the transportation and distribution operations of a growing company.
