Accountant

MVA is seeking a detail oriented and organized Accountant! MVA provides oil testing and field service work for the electrical transformer industry across the United States as well as internationally. The Accountant will work under the direction of the VP of Finance, and play an important role in daily accounting operations.

Maintaining accuracy, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with internal and external reporting. This position is a full-time office position in Lexington, KY.

What You’ll Do:

• Accounts Receivable processing
• Process all customer payments received and follow up on non-payments.
• Assist with monthly manual billing.
• Maintain appropriate customer files and documentation.
• Accounts Payable processing
• Process all vendor invoices, ensuring the invoice is coded properly and paid out timely.
• Assist in the tracking of project specific expenses.
• Maintain appropriate vendor files and documentation.
• Process monthly employee credit card receipts.
• Financial Reporting
• Perform monthly account balance reconciliations.
• Perform monthly accrual accounting and month end closing
• General
• Perform duties in accordance with company policies, customer expectations, industry, state and federal laws, regulations, and standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

• 6+ years general accounting experience preferred.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
• Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Strong communications skills and ability to follow instruction
• Strong time management skills
• Team player with a positive attitude
