Senior User Experience Designer, Conversational AI

Our client, an American software company that has built an industry platform for property and casualty insurance carriers in the U.S. and worldwide, is hiring a Senior User Experience Designer to join their conversational AI experiences team in San Mateo! In this role, you would serve as an SME for shaping human-centered AI experiences and strategy across their core insurance applications.

You will translate complex artificial intelligence capabilities, including generative AI, agentic workflows, LLM-powered tools, and conversational interfaces, into accessible user experiences.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of UX product design experience A strong digital portfolio submitted with application Proficiency with Figma UX design tools Experience with AI tools like Cursor and Claude Proven UX design experience for Conversational AI systems Copywriting proficiency for natural dialogue.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.

What You Will Do

• Own end-to-end conversational UX design strategy, ensuring scalable, modular flows Translate business needs into user-centric design solutions.
• Present concepts to stakeholders advocating user-first principles.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure technical viability.
• Document design decisions and user flows.
• Track KPI benchmarks across features to identify optimization opportunities.
• Analyze live interactions to identify and fix design issues.
• Iterate designs based on data to improve bot performance.
