We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join the dedicated lymphedema management team in our hospital\-based outpatient rehabilitation clinic.

As an Occupational Therapist, you play a crucial role in helping patients regain their independence, maximize their functional abilities, and improve their quality of life. As one of our OT Lymphedema staff, you will work closely with a team of therapists whose passion is addressing the unique and lifelong needs of this complex population.

Lymphedema Management Certification or willingness to actively seek training required. Strong COTA applicants will be considered.

This is a part time position, 22 hours per week, in the MCH Rehab Services department.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities, as well as their functional limitations.
  • Collaborate with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to set realistic goals and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence\-based occupational therapy interventions to address patients' impairments, promote functional independence, and enhance their overall well\-being.
  • Utilize therapeutic modalities, exercises, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology to improve patients' mobility, dexterity, strength, coordination, and cognitive skills.
  • Offer guidance and training to patients and their families on compensatory strategies, energy conservation, and home modifications to support independent living.
  • Monitor patients' progress, track outcomes, and modify treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal results.
  • Maintain accurate and up\-to\-date documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Stay current with the latest research, advancements, and best practices in occupational therapy to provide the highest quality care to patients.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to assess patients' needs, develop appropriate treatment plans, and implement interventions accordingly.
