If this sounds like the choice you want to make, then choose MITRE \- and make a difference with us.
MITRE’s Multi\-INT AI Engineering Department brings together the deep technical knowledge needed to develop new capabilities and the critical domain knowledge needed to shape them for multiple sponsor missions. That combination gives us the depth and breadth to thrive in mission\-focused research and development and science and technology organizations.
It also reflects the credibility we have earned with sponsors through work spanning research, analysis, prototyping, test, and evaluation. We draw on all these strengths to turn promising ideas into capabilities that serve real mission needs.
We seek motivated people with experience in artificial intelligence (AI), software development, and cloud engineering experience who want to apply their skills to meaningful mission challenges. Our teams bring together sensors, AI and machine learning (ML), and data engineering to exploit multimodal data.
This includes remote sensing data collected using infrared imagery (OPIR), hyperspectral imagery (HSI), radar (SAR/GMTI), full motion video (FMV), Wide Are Motion Imagery (WAMI), and 3D data from a range of sources.
**Roles \& Responsibilities:**
- Design and develop complex prototype capabilities that integrate software, data processing, cloud components, and AI methods for sponsor evaluation.
- Develop technical approaches that combine or extend research from academia and industry to sponsors’ challenging data sources and problem sets.
- Design and implement data ingestion, normalization, and ETL components that resolve complex data quality, integration, performance, and access issues in multimodal data pipelines.
- Analyze mission data from cutting\-edge data sources (remote sensing, OSINT, signals, or other mission data), identify limitations that affect study findings, and apply advanced analytical methods to complex multi\-INT questions.
- Define and execute complex technical studies for mission AI challenges, including hypothesis formulation, experiment design, implementation, resolving methodological issues, and rigorous testing and evaluation approaches.
- Design and apply software and cloud engineering best practices for complex prototypes that are reproducible, testable, and usable by MITRE and sponsor teams.
- Lead technical teams through problem solving, implementation, and evaluation of a complex approach.
- Communicate complex technical approaches and build agreement among project stakeholders that include both lay and expert audiences.
**Basic Qualifications:**
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Advanced Python and software engineering skills, including the ability to design complex AI application components, resolve integration issues, and guide their implementation.
- Experience designing and deploying complex cloud\-based capabilities, selecting appropriate containerization and deployment approaches, and resolving implementation constraints.
- Ability to account for multimodal workflows and data access, security, and operational constraints when designing and evaluating complex capabilities.
- Ability to explain complex technical approaches clearly and build agreement among lay and expert project stakeholders.
- **Must have** an active **Top Secret/SCI** **with CI Poly** U.S Government issued Security Clearance. Per the U.S. Government’s eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or related disciplines.
- Experience designing approaches that combine multimodal or multi\-INT data, including GEOINT, OSINT, or imagery, to address complex mission questions.
- Experience planning or executing technical studies that inform government acquisition or capability decisions.
- Experience guiding the development, testing, and deployment of AI/ML capabilities for use by mission stakeholders, including large\-scale model training or data processing workflows in HPC environments
