Full-time Sandblast Equipment Operator/Headstone Designer

Monday-Friday, 8-4PM. 40 hours/week. Located in Wadsworth, Ohio.

About the Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented, creative, and dependable Monument Sandblast Designer & Operator to join our team. This position combines graphic design, monument lettering and layout, and hands-on sandblasting to create high-quality, personalized memorials for families.

The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, takes pride in their craftsmanship, and understands the importance of producing accurate, beautiful memorials that honor loved ones.

Experience in graphic design, monument production, sandblasting, or a related field is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Design and lay out monument artwork, lettering, inscriptions, and decorative elements using design software.
• Prepare sandblast stencils and patterns for monument production.
• Operate sandblasting equipment to create lettering, designs, and artwork on granite and other monument materials.
• Apply, align, and cut stencil materials accurately before sandblasting.
• Review designs, spelling, dates, and layouts for accuracy before production.
• Follow production specifications and ensure each monument meets quality standards.
• Maintain sandblasting equipment, tools, and a clean, organized work area.
• Safely handle monument materials and follow workplace safety procedures.
• Work with team members to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Take pride in producing high-quality memorials with care, precision, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Corel Draw/LXI Flexi Sign/Adobe Photoshop background is a plus. Our shop works with mainly vector design artwork and photographs.
• Sandblast experience & forklift certification preferred but not required.
• Creative ability and an eye for design, spacing, lettering, and layout.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn design software.
• Ability to follow instructions, read layouts, and meet production deadlines.
• Reliable, organized, and self-motivated work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn specialized equipment and monument production techniques.
• Previous graphic design, sign-making, sandblasting, engraving, or monument industry experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform hands-on production work.
• Ability to lift and move materials within established safety guidelines, with assistance or mechanical equipment as needed.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
• Comfort working in a production environment with appropriate safety precautions.
