Software Engineer-Junior

Seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support a DoD program. The candidate will work with the technical lead and development team to maintain and enhance existing Java-based applications in the cloud environment, troubleshoot issues, and support ongoing development and modernization efforts.

The position offers opportunities to learn Python, APEX and other application development tools, as well as gain hands-on experience to AI-assisted development practices already being used by the team. Prior experience with AI technologies is not required, we are looking for someone with a solid Java foundation, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn new technologies.

The candidate will be a self-starter, team-player and will be expected to manage and complete their tasks in a fast-paced results driven environment. The position is remote.

Basic Qualifications:

• 1 Years IT experience with bachelor’s in computer science.
• Experience with software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Java software design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Experience with web-based applications, client/server applications, or cloud-hosted systems.
• Must have an active Interim Secret or Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with software development concepts and Agile methodologies
• Experience with common release tracking software (JIRA, Confluence)
• Experience with basic SQL
• Knowledge of AWS Cloud
• Knowledge of leveraging AI-assisted development tools, automated code generation, or AI-powered engineering capabilities.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
