About this role
About Us
MEREDITH PC is a boutique estate planning firm in Flower Mound, Texas, serving individuals, families, and business owners throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area. We believe estate planning is deeply personal work, and we’ve built our practice around thoughtful counsel, close client relationships, and plans that actually work when families need them most.
As a boutique firm, we offer something larger firms often can’t: meaningful client contact from day one, a collaborative team environment, and the chance to have a real hand in shaping the practice.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced estate planning attorney who loves this area of law and wants to practice it at a high level. You’ll work directly with clients from the initial design meeting through signing and beyond, handling a mix of foundational planning and sophisticated matters for clients with significant and complex estates.
If you’re looking for substantive work, autonomy, and a firm where your judgment is valued, we’d like to meet you.
What You’ll Do
- Lead client meetings to understand family dynamics, goals, and assets, and design plans tailored to each client
- Draft and review wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, medical directives, and related documents
- Advise on federal estate and gift tax planning, including lifetime gifting strategies and use of exemption
- Coordinate with CPAs, financial advisors, and other professionals on behalf of clients
- Mentor support staff and contribute to the continued growth of the firm
What We’re Looking For
- J.D. and active license to practice law in Texas, in good standing
- Minimum of five years of experience practicing as a licensed estate planning attorney
- Strong working knowledge of federal estate, gift, and GST tax, as well as Texas property, trust, and probate law, including community property considerations
- Familiarity with valuation concepts and the role of the IRS §7520 rate in selecting and structuring planning techniques
- Excellent drafting skills and close attention to detail
- The ability to explain complex concepts in plain, reassuring language to clients
- A client-first mindset, sound judgment, and the ability to manage a caseload independently
Preferred
- Board Certification in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (or on track to obtain it)
- Experience with business succession planning and closely held business interests
- Existing relationships with referral sources in the DFW area
Why Join Us
- Sophisticated, rewarding work without big-firm bureaucracy
- Direct client relationships and real ownership of your matters
- Collaborative, supportive team culture
- Convenient Flower Mound location with easy access to the greater DFW area
Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
