Staff Accountant

Join a 5th generation family-owned company that has been in business for 130 years! Menzner Hardwoods Co. was founded in 1894 and has since grown to be one of the largest hardwood moulding manufacturers in the U.S. We currently employ approximately 500 people in four states.

Menzner Hardwoods is seeking qualified individuals for a Staff Accountant position within our Accounting Department in our Marathon, WI location.

Individual will be responsible for maintaining various general ledger accounts, monitoring cash flow, analyze product costing, and maintain Fixed Asset records. A background in manufacturing is helpful but not required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Reconcile various General Ledger accounts via the appropriate work papers.
• Create Journal Entries as needed.
• Compile and analyze components of product cost.
• Record/reconcile production reports and inventory activity.
• Assist with cash flow transactions and bank reconciliations.
• Monitor Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions.
• Maintain Fixed Asset records and record depreciation.
• Participate in the monthly close process and annual audit.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Requires Bachelors or Associates Degree in Accounting.
• 3- 5 years of experience in accounting in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills with a sound understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
• Ability to work and manage independently, as well as within a team environment.
• Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, quarterly and annual reports for management and others.
