Location: Baltimore County, Maryland

Employment Type: Full-Time, W-2

Organization: Nonprofit, Joint Commission-Accredited Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC)

Make a Meaningful Difference in Community Mental Health

We are a nonprofit, Joint Commission-accredited Outpatient Mental Health Clinic seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our close-knit clinical team.

We provide psychiatric care to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults through Maryland's Public Behavioral Health System, serving individuals with diverse backgrounds, diagnoses, and often complex clinical and psychosocial needs.

We believe that every individual deserves exceptional, compassionate, and accessible mental health care, regardless of their circumstances.

We are looking for more than a skilled prescriber. We are seeking someone who genuinely enjoys community mental health, approaches patients without judgment, takes pride in providing outstanding care, and values being part of a supportive, collaborative team.

The Opportunity

This position is ideal for an experienced PMHNP who enjoys direct patient care, is confident practicing independently within their authorized scope, and thrives in a busy outpatient environment.

Candidates must have experience evaluating, diagnosing, and providing psychiatric medication management to patients across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.

Our ideal candidate combines clinical expertise with compassion, efficiency, dependability, and sound professional judgment. They understand that excellent psychiatric care extends beyond scheduled appointments and includes timely follow-through on medication refills, prior authorizations, patient communications, and other clinical responsibilities.

We especially value practitioners who demonstrate initiative, accountability, professional maturity, and a commitment to clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for patients across the lifespan.
  • Independently manage a diverse outpatient psychiatric caseload.
  • Provide evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and nonjudgmental care.
  • Manage prescription refills, medication prior authorizations, patient calls, and other clinical needs promptly and reliably.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with therapists, clinical leadership, administrative staff, and other providers to ensure coordinated care.
  • Exercise sound clinical judgment in managing complex psychiatric presentations and patient safety concerns.
  • Participate in clinical consultation, care coordination, and quality improvement activities.

You possess strong assessment, diagnostic, and psychopharmacology skills and exercise thoughtful, independent clinical judgment.

You can manage a busy clinical schedule while consistently addressing documentation, refills, prior authorizations, and patient communications.

Accountability and initiative.

You take ownership of your responsibilities, follow through on patient needs, and maintain high professional standards.

A collaborative, team-oriented approach.

You communicate respectfully, support your colleagues, and value being part of a close-knit team committed to exceptional patient care.
