Staff Auditor/Accountant

Job Description:

A Rockville (Shady Grove area) CPA firm seeks an accountant with 0-2 years’ experience in public or private accounting. We are a growing, quality oriented firm with an excellent training program and compensation package. Diversified, interesting non-profit focused client base and pleasant team environment.

Job Requirements:

0-2 years in the public or private accounting field

Bachelor’s degree in accounting (at a minimum, must be working towards a bachelor’s degree in accounting)

CPA eligible a plus

Self motivated and strong analytical ability

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Personable and ability to work well in a team environment

Maintain professional demeanor and confidence communicating with clients

Strong proficiency in Microsoft word and excel

Experience with Engagement Manager audit software, Lacerte tax preparation, QuickBooks Online accounting software and Bill.com is a plus.

In-office role, 5 days per week.

Job Responsibilities:

· Work with experienced auditors on audit engagements for non-profit and for-profit clients. Will assist with preparation of audit workpapers and analysis, internal control walkthroughs and financial statement preparation.

· Assist in compilation and review engagements

· Preparation of Form 990 and 990T

· Preparation of MD and DC Personal Property Returns

· General ledger maintenance for non-profit clients including bank and other account reconciliations, preparing journal entries and analyzing account balances and budget variances

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation is commensurate with job experience, education, licensing and college academic records. Comprehensive benefit package is offered to all full time employees and includes medical, dental and vision coverage. Paid vacation and employer retirement plan contribution/match is also offered.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
