As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant with agricultural experience to join our finance team and help us optimize our costs and improve financial performance.
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant (experience in the agriculture industry is a plus). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, particularly within agricultural environments, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by farming operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other financial records to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and applicable accounting standards.
- Analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend process improvements.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, audits, and preparation of financial reports for company leadership.
- Other duties as necessary.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a Senior Accountant or general ledger accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, general ledger, and account reconciliations.
- Experience managing month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Famous Software is a plus
