Role Overview: The Physical Therapist provides medically prescribed therapy to relieve pain, restore function, and prevent disability following illness or injury.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts patient evaluations, develops individualized treatment plans using exercises, manual therapy, heat, water, light, and electrical modalities.
- Guides active/passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait, and functional training with equipment like ultrasound and diathermy.
- Offers patient education on postural control, device use, and ongoing exercises.
- Supervises support staff and assists in training students and staff in therapy techniques.
- Documents patient progress and collaborates with the rehabilitation team.
Qualifications & Skills
- Requires a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (post-2015), licensure as a Physical Therapist, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred certifications include Pelvic Health.
- Must obtain licensure and BLS certification within 90 days of employment.
- Prior experience in physical therapy is preferred.
Additional Requirements
Strong knowledge of therapy techniques, equipment, and patient care, with excellent communication and supervision skills.
