Role Overview:
The Physical Therapist provides medically prescribed therapy to alleviate pain, restore function, and prevent disability after disease, injury, or limb loss.
They develop individualized treatment programs utilizing exercises, manual therapy, heat, water, light, and electrical modalities, and conduct diagnostic and functional tests.
The role involves guiding patients through active/passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait, and functional training with equipment like ultrasound machines and generators.
They instruct on device use, postural control, and therapeutic exercises, perform evaluations, and document progress for the rehabilitation team.
Supervision of assistants, aides, or volunteers and training medical personnel or students may be required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Educational requirements include a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (post-2015), with a high school diploma or higher education necessary.
- Experience expectations are specified by the number of years and type of experience, with preferences indicated.
- Certifications include a valid Physical Therapy license, Basic Life Support (BLS), and potentially Pelvic Health certification.
Required licensures and certifications must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
