Role Overview: The occupational therapist assesses, plans, and implements rehabilitative programs to improve patients’ daily functioning, mobility, cognition, strength, coordination, and range of motion. Services are delivered across the continuum in a cost-effective, quality-focused, and patient-centered manner, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Treatment Planning & Care: Implements treatment plans, selects appropriate activities, revises goals with patient/family input, provides education and discharge instructions, and facilitates referrals.
- Patient Assessment: Collaborates with physicians to establish and evaluate treatment programs, develops care plans with realistic discharge goals, and ensures ongoing assessment.
- Documentation: Maintains accurate records of evaluations, treatment sessions, family education, and discharge plans per departmental guidelines.
- Professional & Teamwork: Upholds ethical standards, maintains confidentiality, communicates effectively, participates in meetings, and promotes a positive team environment.
- Customer Service & Development: Demonstrates excellent patient interaction, supports a positive environment, and pursues ongoing professional development and mandatory training.
Qualifications & Skills
Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Occupational Therapy, valid OT license, BLS certification, effective communication skills, customer focus, teamwork, and basic computer proficiency.
