Role Overview:

An occupational therapist assesses, plans, and participates in rehabilitative programs to improve patients' daily activities, mobility, cognitive functions, strength, coordination, and range of motion. Services are delivered across the continuum, emphasizing quality, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment: Collaborate with physicians to develop and evaluate treatment plans, set goals, and establish discharge strategies involving patients and families.
  • Care Delivery: Implement treatment plans, select appropriate activities, adjust goals, provide patient and family education, and offer discharge instructions and follow-up referrals.
  • Documentation: Record evaluations, treatment sessions, education, and discharge details following departmental protocols.
  • Professional Conduct: Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, punctuality, dress code, and effective communication; participate in meetings and process improvements.
  • Customer Service & Teamwork: Apply AIDET principles, foster positive interactions, respect patients and colleagues, and promote teamwork.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing education, complete required competencies, and participate in training and orientation activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program with a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • Licensure as an Occupational Therapist and Basic Life Support certification, including instructor or provisional BLS if applicable.
  • Effective communication, customer service focus, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
