Physical Therapist

**Job Summary:** The **Physical Therapist** assumes responsibility for ensuring appropriate daily functions of therapy. They evaluate and treats clients within the scope of licensure and duties as an occupational therapist. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of LifeLab Kids.

**Primary Responsibilities:**

**Clinical Care**

• Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and re\-evaluations.
• Caseload/Productivity Expectation: Maintain a caseload structured around approximately 70% direct therapy and 30% indirect clinical responsibilities.
• Indirect time may include evaluations, treatment planning, documentation, care coordination, caregiver communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, progress monitoring, and other responsibilities necessary to support high\-quality client care. Develop individualized treatment plans based on each client's functional needs, strengths, goals, and medical/developmental history.
• Provide direct 1:1 and/or small\-group physical therapy services.
• Address areas including:
• Gross motor development
• Strength and endurance
• Balance and coordination
• Gait and mobility
• Motor planning
• Range of motion and flexibility
• Functional transfers
• Postural control
• Functional participation and independence
• Use evidence\-based, developmentally appropriate treatment strategies.
• Incorporate client interests and natural environments into therapy whenever appropriate.
• Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical findings and response to intervention.
• Identify the need for adaptive equipment, orthotics, mobility supports, or other accommodations and make appropriate recommendations/referrals.

**Documentation \& Compliance**

• Complete evaluations, treatment plans, daily treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation accurately and within required timelines.
• Maintain documentation consistent with LLK policies and applicable licensing, payer, and regulatory requirements.
• Track progress toward individualized goals and communicate changes in functional status.
• Maintain appropriate professional licensure and continuing education requirements.

**Interdisciplinary Collaboration**

• Collaborate closely with BCBAs, OTs, SLPs, counselors, technicians, and other LLK team members.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and case consultations.
• Coordinate therapy goals with other disciplines to avoid duplication and maximize client progress.
• Communicate relevant clinical recommendations to the client's care team.
• Participate in team discussions regarding safety, mobility, positioning, and functional needs.

**Family/Caregiver Support**

• Provide caregivers with education regarding exercises, positioning, mobility, strengthening, and strategies that can be incorporated into daily routines.
• Communicate progress, concerns, and recommendations to parents/guardians in a professional and accessible manner.
• Support caregivers in understanding how PT goals relate to functional independence and participation outside of therapy.

**Program Development**

• Help establish and grow LLK's physical therapy program.
• Assist with development of PT\-specific procedures, resources, treatment protocols, and documentation standards.
• Help identify appropriate equipment and materials needed to support PT services.
• Participate in community outreach, referral development, and education opportunities as appropriate.
• Support efforts to increase awareness of LLK's PT services among families and referral partners.

**Additional Expectations**

• Maintain a **child\-led, strengths\-based, and trauma\-informed approach** to therapy.

Pay: $42\. 00 \- $48\. 00 per hour

Expected hours: 10\. 0 – 20\. 0 per week
