About this role
Description
Leidos is seeking a motivated and analytical Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineer to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team supporting complex U.S. Navy combat systems and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs.
This position offers a unique opportunity to apply engineering principles across multiple technical domains, supporting the reliability, maintainability, and life cycle sustainment of advanced naval systems.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with engineering, logistics, and technical teams to evaluate complex systems, develop maintenance and repair strategies, and deliver cost-effective solutions that enhance operational readiness and long-term system supportability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) to determine the most cost-effective maintenance and repair strategies for Navy combat systems and associated equipment.
- Perform Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to evaluate potential equipment failures, assess operational impacts, and identify maintenance and reliability requirements.
- Analyze reliability and maintainability data, including Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), to support maintenance planning and life cycle cost assessments.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate organizational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance and repair requirements based on technical, operational, and economic considerations.
- Apply engineering principles across multiple technical disciplines to assess system supportability, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop effective life cycle sustainment solutions.
- Develop and support maintenance planning, repair recommendations, and provisioning requirements to improve system availability, reliability, and long-term supportability.
- Review engineering drawings, technical documentation, equipment specifications, and reliability data to support engineering assessments and logistics product development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, provisioning, technical documentation, and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) teams to ensure maintenance and repair requirements are accurately identified and documented.
- Prepare technical analyses, reports, and recommendations supporting program requirements and customer deliverables.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Systems, or related discipline) with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in engineering analysis, maintenance planning, reliability engineering, maintainability analysis, logistics engineering, or life cycle sustainment.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, engineering drawings, and equipment specifications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, multidisciplinary technical environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Ability to travel occasionally as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting U.S. Navy systems, defense electronics, military platforms, or other complex technical systems.
- Familiarity with Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), or Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) engineering.
- Knowledge of Navy maintenance concepts, including organizational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance.
- Experience in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), provisioning, maintenance planning, or logistics product development.
- Familiarity with life cycle cost analysis, reliability-centered maintenance, or logistics support analysis.
- Experience collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines to develop technical solutions.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
