Registered Nurse (RN) Charge Nurse

Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Charge Nurse to coordinate daily nursing care and support a safe, responsive environment for patients and residents. You will guide the care team, make timely clinical decisions, and communicate with patients, families, and other health professionals. The role may suit nurses with experience in hospital, long-term care, senior care, or other clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate assignments and oversee patient care, including assessment, vital signs, medication administration, and medical documentation.
• Respond to changes in condition, support triage and emergency response, and escalate concerns using established procedures.
• Your impact: Coordinated assessments and clear handoffs help patients and residents receive timely, consistent care.
• Maintain accurate medical records in electronic health record (EHR) or electronic medical record (EMR) systems, following privacy and infection-control practices.
• Support care planning, discharge planning, and communication with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Current registered nurse licensure and demonstrated nursing judgment, communication, and team leadership skills.
• Patient care experience; acute care, critical care, emergency room, telemetry, medical-surgical, post-acute, nursing home, assisted living, memory care, hospice, or home care experience is relevant.
• Knowledge of patient assessment, physiology, medication administration, IV insertion, catheter care, aseptic technique, and basic life support.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, medical terminology, ICD coding, and EMR/EHR systems; experience with Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is useful.
• Additional experience in pediatrics, geriatrics, dialysis, behavioral health, trauma, or developmental-disability care is valued.
