Full Stack Developer - Remote

**Summary**

The Full Stack Developer is a member of the IT team, accountable for supporting and extending Lazer's existing ColdFusion (CFML) applications while building new functionality on Lazer's JavaScript and HTML/CSS development stack.

This role owns day\-to\-day maintenance, troubleshooting, and production support of the legacy platform, delivers new web application features, and participates in the gradual modernization of legacy functionality toward current web technologies. The ideal candidate is technically versatile, self\-directed, and proficient with AI\-assisted development tools, while prioritizing code quality and security.

**Job Description**

**Application Development \& Delivery*** Design, build, and maintain web applications and features using JavaScript and HTML/CSS as Lazer's primary development stack.

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions in partnership with the Director of Platforms and Services and cross\-functional stakeholders.

**Legacy Systems Support \& Modernization*** Maintain, troubleshoot, and support Lazer's existing ColdFusion (CFML) applications to ensure reliability for dependent business processes.

• Acquire working proficiency in ColdFusion syntax, patterns, and application architecture to competently support and extend the legacy codebase.
• Execute the gradual modernization of legacy ColdFusion functionality toward current web technologies, including scoping and de\-risking migration work.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues across both legacy and modern applications within established response expectations.

**Engineering Practices*** Produce clean, well\-documented, and testable code and participate in peer code reviews with the development team.

• Apply AI\-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT, to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and documentation while maintaining code quality and security standards.
• Maintain current knowledge of JavaScript ecosystem tools, frameworks, and AI\-assisted development practices, and share relevant findings with the team.

**Team Collaboration*** Promote a business partner and ownership mindset to the team to prioritize customer service excellence, adaptability and resilience to change and continuous improvement.

00 , General Benefits:**Qualifications and Experience*** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience preferred.

• 3\+ years of professional experience as a software or application developer.
• Strong working proficiency in JavaScript and HTML/CSS.
• Hands\-on experience using AI\-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) to speed up day\-to\-day development work.
• Willingness and ability to learn ColdFusion (CFML) on the job; prior ColdFusion experience is not required.
• Solid understanding of web application fundamentals, including client\-server architecture, APIs, and relational databases.
• Prior exposure to ColdFusion or other legacy server\-side languages.
• Experience with a modern JavaScript framework or library (such as React, Vue, or Angular).
• Experience with SQL and relational database design.
• Experience using Git or another version control system in a team setting.
• Experience contributing to a legacy\-to\-modern application migration.
• Strong written communication and self\-direction; able to work effectively as part of a fully remote team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.).
