About this role
Great Entertainment Takes Great Management Behind the Scenes.
Laughs Unlimited is an established, locally owned comedy club in the heart of Old Sacramento. We're looking for an experienced, organized, and motivated operations leader to help take our business to the next level.
We're not necessarily looking for someone with entertainment industry experience. We're looking for someone who knows how to lead people, improve business performance, maintain operational standards, and take ownership of getting things done.
This position begins with a structured training program alongside ownership, with the goal of transitioning into independent management of daily club operations within approximately six months, based on performance and readiness.
What You'll Do
Lead and Develop Our Team
- Supervise, coach, and motivate approximately 11 part-time employees.
- Establish clear expectations and maintain consistent accountability.
- Address employee performance issues and resolve workplace conflicts professionally.
- Develop staff incentive programs that encourage teamwork, excellent service, and stronger sales.
Drive Business Performance
- Monitor food and beverage sales, including Per Person Average (PPA).
- Analyze daily reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coach employees on effective sales techniques while protecting the guest experience.
- Monitor labor efficiency, inventory, and operational expenses.
Own Daily Operations
- Oversee live performances, guest service, staffing, and front-of-house operations.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures, walkthroughs, and daily reporting are completed consistently.
- Maintain scheduling, operational standards, and routine staff communication.
- Handle unexpected challenges independently and professionally.
- Identify inefficiencies, implement improvements, and follow through on results.
What We're Looking For
- At least three years of management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading employees and addressing performance concerns.
- Strong organizational skills, initiative, and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to improve operations, processes, or business performance.
- Comfort reviewing sales data and using business technology.
- Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence managing established teams with experienced employees.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional Sunday events.
Experience in hospitality, restaurants, retail, or live entertainment is helpful but not required.
Leadership experience, accountability, and operational excellence matter more to us than your industry background.
What We Offer
- Competitive starting compensation of $28–$32 per hour.
- A structured management training and development program.
- Opportunity to advance into full club operations management, targeting approximately six months based on demonstrated readiness.
- Target base salary of $75,000–$80,000 annually upon promotion, subject to qualifications and applicable employment requirements.
- Health insurance eligibility under our employee benefits plan.
- Complimentary tickets for friends and family.
- Potential performance-based bonus eligibility after the first year.
- The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a successful, independently owned business.

If you're an experienced leader ready for a unique opportunity with room to grow, we'd love to hear from you.
