About Last Bottle Wines Last Bottle Wines is a California\-based direct\-to\-consumer wine retailer operating more than 2 dozen Shopify storefronts across multiple brands — Last Bottle Wines, Last Bubbles, First Bottle, and 2Tier Trading. The Role

We're looking for a seasoned Shopify frontend full\-stack engineer who can own the storefront layer end\-to\-end — from Liquid/Hydrogen templates and custom Shopify Functions through backend integrations with our OMS (Linnworks), shipping platform (WeShip), and data infrastructure (Supabase / FastAPI / Prefect).

You'll work directly with the Director of Technology Operations and be a key driver in our push to reduce agency dependency and bring more technical work in\-house. This is not an 'apply a theme and tweak CSS' role. You'll be architecting checkout extensions, building headless commerce features, writing macros, and shipping production code across a multi\-brand storefront estate.

What You'll

Own**Storefront \& Theme Development*** Own and evolve Liquid themes across all LBW Shopify Plus storefronts

• Build and maintain Shopify Functions (discounts, shipping, payment customizations)
• Develop Checkout Extensions using Shopify's UI Extensions framework
• Implement and maintain metafield/metaobject schemas for product tagging across multiple brands
• Coordinate multi\-storefront deployments with zero cross\-brand contamination

**Headless \& API\-First Work*** Build and maintain Python and React middleware layers interfacing with the Shopify Storefront API and Cart API

• Design and implement Shopify webhook consumers in FastAPI / Python
• Maintain and extend GraphQL integrations with Shopify Admin API
• Contribute to headless subscription infrastructure (Stripe\-based wine club)

**Integrations \& Backend*** Extend Linnworks OMS integrations — macros, order sync, digital twin logic (Merge Order, SetOrderGeneralInfo patterns)

• Contribute to the unified shipping integration platform (AfterShip, WeShip, Klaviyo event plumbing)
• Write and maintain Python data pipelines for analytics and operational workflows
• Participate in PostHog/Datadog/Supabase analytics instrumentation across storefronts

**Technical Operations*** Own vendor security reviews and forensic audits of third\-party Shopify apps

• Enforce and extend the multi\-brand product tagging schema and Shopify Function conventions
• Document architecture decisions and maintain internal runbooks
• Support DTC compliance tooling (CCPA/CPRA flows, state\-level checkout extensions)

Requirements**Must\-Haves*** 4\+ years of Shopify theme development (Liquid, Dawn or equivalent base theme)

• Strong JavaScript / TypeScript; React (hooks, functional components)
• Shopify Plus experience — multi\-store, B2B, Checkout Extensibility
• Shopify Functions development (GraphQL input/output, WASM constraints)
• Python 3\.x for backend services and scripting (FastAPI a strong plus)
• REST and GraphQL API design and consumption
• Experience with headless commerce architectures (Storefront API, Cart API)
• Supabase or PostgreSQL for data modeling and querying
• Git\-based workflows, CI/CD, and production deployment discipline
• Ability to read and write Shopify Admin API GraphQL mutations cold

**Strong Pluses*** Linnworks OMS / WMS — macro development, SQL Server queries, API integrations

• Python orchestration for data pipelines
• Klaviyo event and flow architecture for transactional/behavioral email
• AfterShip or similar tracking/returns platform integrations
• React Native development for commerce applications
• Stripe Subscriptions / Billing Portal integration
• PostHog / Datadog analytics instrumentation and event schema design
• DTC wine industry familiarity (compliance, carrier restrictions, age verification)
• Monday.com automation or API usage

**Who You Are*** You ship. You don't wait for perfect specs — you prototype, validate, and iterate.

• You own your work across the full stack. Bugs don't belong to someone else's lane.
• You read vendor documentation and API changelogs before asking for help.
• You have strong opinions about code quality but pragmatic judgment about tradeoffs.
• You communicate clearly in writing and don't need daily standups to stay aligned.

Compensation \& Benefits

• Base salary:$120,000\-$135,000 (Exempt) \+ Bonus potential
