Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Infrastructure Engineer is to design, implement, and support hybrid enterprise infrastructure platforms including on-premise networks and servers, cloud IAAS/PAAS solutions, and integrations between environments to enable secure, scalable, and reliable deployment of internally developed software applications.
This role bridges traditional on-premise infrastructure (network, compute, data center) with modern cloud platforms (Azure), ensuring seamless integration, high availability, and operational readiness. The position collaborates closely with enterprise architecture, software development, cyber security, and IT operations teams to deliver resilient infrastructure solutions aligned with business and technology objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise infrastructure.
- Manage and support physical network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, routing, switching, and connectivity services.
- Configure and maintain network technologies such as DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Web Proxies, and firewalls.
- Build and support on-premises infrastructure at multiple locations, including but not limited to Physical servers, Vmware, Windows, Linux, and Containerization platforms.
- Support hybrid cloud environments bridging on-premises infrastructure with Azure platforms.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure standards to support application deployment, scalability, and resiliency.
- Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to ensure infrastructure readiness for CI/CD pipelines and software releases.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues impacting application performance or availability.
- Implement and enforce security controls, network segmentation, and identity/access integration aligned with Cyber Security standards.
- Implement and support containerized and distributed application environments (e.g., Kubernetes/AKS, virtualized workloads).
- Ability to deploy, monitor, and support Azure-based applications across development, test, and production environments.
- Collaborate with software engineers to optimize application build, release, and deployment processes.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability of deployed applications and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to deployment failures, performance bottlenecks, and system outages.
- Manage source control and branching strategies using Git-based repositories.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for operational efficiency and repeatability.
- Ensure proper logging, monitoring, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and related tools.
- Document deployment processes and operational runbooks to support internally developed software transition to operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance release velocity, system resilience, and operational efficiency.
- Perform job duties in a safe manner.

Minimum Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Cisco network certifications desirable, but not required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 5-8 years of experience building and supporting Windows/Linux server infrastructure.
- Strong experience with enterprise networking – vlans and routing, switching, LAN/WAN technologies, SDWAN, 802.1x security (Cisco preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure (compute, networking, storage, identity).
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
- Experience supporting hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud integration).
- Experience with Active Directory services and Group Policy management.
- Experience with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
- Experience deploying enterprise-grade, vendor, SaaS, and internally developed applications.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, ARM, or Bicep).
- Experience with containerization orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, on-prem and cloud).
- Experience supporting application deployment environments and infrastructure dependencies.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools within On-prem and Azure ecosystems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and interact appropriately with management, other Team Members and outside contacts of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to:
- Physically access assigned workspace areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Work remotely as necessary.
- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, and dust.
- Utilize laptop and standard keyboard to perform essential functions of the job.
- Occasional travel to sites in Nevada and Texas as needs arise (less than 10%).
