About this role
You know how to practice. We’ll make sure you can.
At Lakeview Behavioral Health, we believe the best care happens when talented clinicians are trusted to do what they trained to do. So we hire great people, give them the space to practice, and then we get out of the way.
We’re a privately owned, locally rooted practice serving children, adolescents, and adults across northern and central Minnesota. Our goal is to treat the whole person, for lasting healing and lasting recovery. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who cares deeply about their clients and wants to practice somewhere that actually backs them up.
What it’s like to work here
- We trust you. Your clinical judgment is respected here. You’ll be treated as the professional you are.
- You get space to do the work. Time and support to do thorough evaluations and build real relationships with clients, without being buried in administrative noise.
- We get out of your way. Our administrative, billing, and support teams exist to handle the operational side so you can stay focused on the person in front of you.
- Your clients come first. Always. It’s how we make decisions, and we want colleagues who feel the same.
- Variety and impact. Work alongside therapists and substance use clinicians in a practice that offers psychiatry, therapy, substance use treatment, medication-assisted treatment, co-occurring care, TMS, and SPRAVATO®. Your work really does reach the whole person.
- Meaningful work close to home. Serve rural and small-city communities where access to psychiatric care truly changes lives, with telehealth options that extend your reach.
The role
You’ll provide compassionate, ethical outpatient psychiatric care, with medication evaluation and management at the center of your work. You’ll see a variety of clients and diagnoses, and you’ll guide them from intake through discharge.
What you’ll do
- Perform psychiatric evaluations, develop and carry out plans of care, and coordinate care and referrals from intake through discharge
- Manage and monitor medications and treatment outcomes
- Collaborate with our therapists, substance use clinicians, and support staff as a valued member of the team
- Keep clinical documentation and EHR records complete and up to date, so the next clinician and the client always have the full picture
- Protect client information in line with HIPAA standards
- Stay current on research, best practices, and community referral resources
- Maintain good standing with your licensing board and insurance entities, and complete continuing education requirements
- Take part in case consultation and handle occasional related tasks (authorization and billing forms, phone calls)
Who thrives here
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about client care and treats each client as a person, not a caseload number
- Puts the client first in the exam room and in every decision
- Completes their documentation thoroughly and on time. It’s the one thing we ask in return for all that trust and autonomy
- Is a collaborative, positive colleague who values a supportive team environment
- Is energized by the opportunity to practice independently with real backing from the practice
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university, with completion of a PMHNP program and national certification
- Active, unrestricted Minnesota APRN/CNP licensure (or eligibility to obtain it) and DEA registration
- Ability to diagnose psychiatric disorders in children/adolescents and/or adults
- Ability to prescribe psychotropic medications as allowed by the Minnesota Board of Nursing
- Working knowledge of regulatory standards governing care delivery
Ready to practice with trust and autonomy? We’d love to talk.
