For our client, we are seeking a Principal Product Designer, Spending to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space.

This role will shape the design vision for a consumer-facing financial management experience, with a strong emphasis on mobile product quality, usability, and clarity. You will simplify complex spending-related concepts into intuitive interactions that help users better understand and manage their finances.

Partnering closely with cross-functional teams, you will influence product direction, mentor fellow designers, and raise the overall standard of the experience.

Location

San Francisco, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $222,000 – $290,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design process for key app features in financial management
  • Create high-quality mobile experiences with a focus on aesthetics and usability
  • Simplify complex financial concepts into clear, user-friendly experiences
  • Develop and test prototypes to explore and refine design ideas
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to address member needs
  • Maintain a consistent design vision across the app while enhancing quality
  • Mentor junior designers and encourage sound design decisions

Qualifications

  • Deep experience designing consumer mobile products with a strong portfolio
  • Proven track record in leading complex product design as a senior contributor
  • Strong interaction design skills creating accessible experiences
  • Ability to define and communicate a design vision
  • Experience leveraging research and data to inform designs
  • Proven skills in building cross-functional trust and guiding teams
  • Fintech experience is a plus but not required
