About this role

Role:

We’re partnering with an innovative technology organization seeking an experienced Staff Electrical Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and taking ownership of sophisticated hardware designs.

This opportunity is ideal for an engineer who wants to remain deeply involved in hands-on design while also influencing technical direction, leading engineering initiatives, and mentoring others.

The work involves developing advanced electronics for radar and other mission-critical systems, with exposure to high-speed digital architectures, FPGA technology, embedded systems, and mixed-signal hardware.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Take ownership of electronic hardware development, from initial architecture and circuit design through prototyping, testing, and integration.
  • Design high-performance digital and mixed-signal circuits incorporating FPGAs, embedded processors, and high-speed communication interfaces.
  • Work with technologies including PCIe, DDR4/5, Ethernet, USB, SPI, and I²C.
  • Develop schematics and PCB designs using Altium or similar engineering tools.
  • Perform hands-on hardware bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting, and design verification.
  • Collaborate with software, firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance, review designs, and help develop less-experienced engineers.
  • Contribute to the development of reliable electronic systems built for demanding operating environments.

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in engineers who have spent a significant portion of their careers designing electronic hardware, rather than exclusively managing projects or overseeing engineering teams.

The ideal background includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 8–12+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Strong experience designing high-speed digital circuits and complex PCBs.
  • Working knowledge of FPGA architectures, VHDL/HDL, and embedded processors.
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces, signal integrity, and mixed-signal electronics.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer or comparable PCB design platforms.
  • Strong hands-on laboratory skills, including hardware debugging, testing, and validation.
  • Ability to independently drive technical solutions while collaborating with a broader engineering team.

Experience That Would Set You Apart

  • Radar, RF electronics, or GHz-frequency applications.
  • Aerospace, defense, or military electronics.
  • Power electronics and power distribution.
  • Ruggedized electronics and thermal management.
  • Hardware development involving complex FPGA-based architectures.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

You'll have the opportunity to remain technically engaged, work on challenging electronic systems, influence hardware architecture, and contribute directly to products supporting sophisticated mission-critical applications.

It's an excellent opportunity for a senior-level engineer who enjoys both the technical challenges of hardware development and the responsibility that comes with being a trusted engineering leader.

Important

Candidates must be U.S. citizens. Occasional travel may be required.
