Accountant / Bookkeeper

Under the direction of the Executive Director at the Kitsap Tennis and Athletic Center (KTAC), the Accountant / Bookkeeper is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities and supports accurate and timely financial reporting.

This role is responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end close, and supporting general accounting and administrative functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and record daily transactions.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoices, payments, deposits, and collections.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing, journal entries, and financial reports.
• Support payroll-related accounting, sales tax filings, budgeting, and cash-flow tracking.
• Organize documentation for audits, tax preparation, and financial reviews.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality.
• Help improve accounting processes and provide administrative support as needed.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and full-cycle bookkeeping.
• Experience with reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end closing.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion.

Experience with payroll, sales tax, financial reporting, or budgeting is preferred. Education or certification in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is a plus.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
