Company: Kitchen Ventilation Solutions

Location: Metro Atlanta, Georgia — serving metro Atlanta and North Georgia

Job type: Full time

Work arrangement: Office and field

Reports to: Owner

Annual base salary: $110,000–$150,000, depending on experience and qualifications

Required license: Active Georgia Class II Unrestricted Conditioned Air Contractor license

About the position

Kitchen Ventilation Solutions (KVS) installs and services commercial kitchen ventilation systems. We are hiring an Installation Operations Manager to lead our installation department, supervise licensed mechanical work, and deliver projects from the sales handoff through inspection closeout and readiness for final billing.

You will work directly with the owner and have authority to assign crews, schedule work, order within approved budgets, and resolve routine job issues. You will be accountable for project quality, labor use, customer commitments, and job profitability.

What you will own

  • Plan commercial hood, grease duct, exhaust fan, and makeup air installations. Review drawings, scope, site conditions, and labor budgets before mobilizing.
  • Build crew schedules and confirm materials, equipment, site access, permits, and prerequisite work with the office and other trades.
  • Lead field crews, inspect workmanship, coach team members, and keep work safe and within KVS’s authorized trade scope.
  • Coordinate customers, general contractors, suppliers, and inspectors. Communicate delays early with a recovery plan.
  • Track labor, material costs, changes, and remaining work. Obtain required change approvals before additional work proceeds.
  • Own the overall schedule for complete hood projects. Coordinate suppression work and its documentation with the Service and Fire Suppression Manager.
  • Close punch lists and inspection deficiencies, complete job records, and give the office what it needs to invoice promptly.

Weekly expectations

  • By Friday, publish the next week’s crew assignments, customer commitments, and inspection appointments, with a two-week look ahead.
  • Confirm job readiness before dispatch and identify missing materials, access issues, or trade dependencies with an owner and resolution date.
  • Provide a concise report showing labor against budget, cost to finish, projected job margins, inspection status, and items delaying final billing.

Required qualifications

  • An active Georgia Class II Unrestricted Conditioned Air Contractor license, with eligibility and willingness to serve as KVS’s registered qualifying licensee.
  • Availability to work full time in the business and provide the required technical supervision for all KVS work relying on your HVAC qualification, including applicable service work.
  • Demonstrated experience managing commercial mechanical projects, leading field crews, and controlling labor and material costs.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, plan duct and equipment installations, coordinate inspections, and resolve field problems.
  • Clear customer communication, organized digital job records, sound judgment, and the ability to make routine operating decisions independently.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites throughout the service area.

Preferred experience

Commercial kitchen ventilation, CaptiveAire equipment, grease duct and fire wrap, makeup air systems, airflow troubleshooting, and coordinating suppression and electrical trade partners.

Work arrangement

This role combines office planning and active field oversight. The schedule must accommodate site access, inspections, and project commitments.
