About this role

Senior Account Manager SEO/AEO/SEM & Web Development Projects Location: Remote (United States) — team is fully distributed; Eastern or Central time-zone overlap preferred Employment Type: Full-time, W-2 (exempt) Reports To: Owner / CEO Portfolio Size: Over 150 current accounts Compensation: $70,000–$90,000 base + performance bonus (see Compensation section below) About the Company We are a profitable, 10+ year-old, fully remote digital marketing and web services agency serving a large base of active U.S.

B2B clients across two core lines of business

SEO / search marketing and website design, development, hosting, and maintenance. The company has grown almost entirely through referrals and long-standing agency partnerships, with client relationships built on trust, responsiveness, and consistent delivery rather than aggressive sales.

The business is entering a new phase of growth under an experienced operator who is investing in stronger processes, technology (including AI-assisted workflows), and a small number of senior hires to professionalize the agency while preserving what has always made it work: clients who trust us and stick around for years.

The Role

The Senior Account Manager is the person who makes sure clients get what they were promised — on both sides of the business. You will own the day-to-day relationship for a portfolio of client accounts spanning SEO/search marketing and web design, development, and maintenance, acting as the primary point of contact clients trust and rely on.

You will translate client goals into clear project scopes, keep delivery — much of it executed by an experienced offshore development and SEO team — on time and on budget, and proactively find opportunities to grow each account's scope and value. This is a hands-on, delivery-and-relationship role, not a pure sales role: you are the connection between the client, the internal coordinators, and the delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities · Own the client relationship for an assigned portfolio of accounts across both SEO/AEO/SEM and web design, development, hosting, and maintenance — serving as the primary, trusted point of contact. · Manage campaigns and web projects end-to-end: scope, timeline, budget, and quality, coordinating closely with internal coordinators and our offshore design/development and delivery teams to hit deadlines. · Run regular client check-ins and quarterly business reviews; present performance and web project status clearly to non-technical business owners. · Identify and execute account-growth opportunities within the existing client base. · Monitor account health, flag churn risk early, and resolve service escalations quickly to protect the agency's strong client-retention track record. · Help formalize account documentation — signed scopes of work and service agreements — for existing accounts that don't yet have one, without disrupting the relationship. · Contribute to building out client-facing performance reporting, including tracking the value and outcomes each account is getting, not just tasks completed. · Develop working knowledge of the agency's priority industry verticals (senior living among them) to speak credibly to sector-specific client needs. · Partner with agency leadership on process improvement as the company adds structure — documented playbooks, clearer handoffs, and consistent onboarding for new accounts.

How Success Is Measured · Client retention across your assigned portfolio. · Growth in existing account revenue through expanded scope and new services. · Formal agreements: all assigned accounts under signed SOWs/service agreements within 120 days of start. · Timely delivery and client satisfaction on campaigns and web projects.

What You'll Bring · 5+ years of client/account management experience at a digital marketing, SEO, AEO, web design, or full-service digital agency — agency-side experience preferred. · Extensive knowledge of SEO/SEM fundamentals and website design, development, hosting, and maintenance — focus will be on scoping work accurately and translating between clients and technical delivery teams; hands-on execution not typically required. · A track record of managing a multi-account portfolio that blends recurring retainers with project-based work. · Demonstrated success growing and upselling existing accounts, and maintaining high client retention. · Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable being the face of the company to small and mid-size business owners. · Experience coordinating with offshore or distributed delivery teams is a strong plus. · Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana) and marketing/CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, HighLevel) is a plus. · A self-starter who is comfortable in a lean, remote, founder-transition environment — someone who takes ownership rather than waiting for a large team around them.

Compensation

Base salary of $70,000–$90,000, based on experience, plus a performance bonus tied to client retention and account growth (targeted at roughly 10–20% of base at full attainment). Total target compensation of approximately $77,000–$108,000. How to Apply Please submit a resume and a short note describing your current role and goals for the future.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
