Kentro is hiring a Senior IT Manager to support IT operations within its internal corporate IT department. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for managing IT operations and end-user support, managing the support team members, and overseeing the security and compliance posture of the corporate environment for US Federal requirements.

The IT Manager will direct day-to-day infrastructure and cloud system administration, employee onboarding and offboarding, manage staff and vendors, and ensure the organization's systems align with applicable security and regulatory requirements.

Location

This is a hybrid position based out of Kentro's McLean, VA office. The IT Manager is required to work on-site at the McLean, VA office on a regular basis in accordance with the hybrid work schedule; this is not a remote position.

Compensation

Range:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000–$150,000 annually and reflects Kentro’s good-faith expectations at the time of posting. Final compensation is determined based on the role’s requirements, relevant skills, experience, education, certifications, work location, applicable security clearance requirements, market conditions, internal equity, and contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop the IT support/infrastructure team, including workload distribution, performance management, and hiring.
  • Serve as the final escalation point for complex incidents, outages, and operational decisions.
  • Own IT budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement decisions.
  • Drive process improvement, SOP development, and ITSM maturity across the department.
  • Oversee administration of Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Purview, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Azure services.
  • Direct configuration and enforcement of identity/access management, conditional access, MFA, SSO, and endpoint compliance policies.
  • Oversee network architecture, administration, and security controls.
  • Oversee patch management, system hardening, and lifecycle/asset management programs.
  • Lead incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning efforts.
  • Own compliance with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 27001), including maintaining supporting documentation and coordinating audits.
  • Maintain and oversee technical documentation, including network diagrams and System Security Plan (SSP)-type documentation.
  • Ensure IT operations align with applicable regulatory and contractual security requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit activities.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including prior experience managing or leading an IT team.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure, including Entra ID, Intune, Purview, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Azure administration.
  • Strong understanding of identity/access management, security controls, conditional access, MFA, SSO, and network administration.
  • Experience with compliance to ISO standards and NIST 800-171, including supporting or leading related audits.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, vendors, and IT projects.
  • Strong leadership, professionalism, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with GCC High / Azure Government environments.
  • Experience with CMMC compliance, audits, assessments, or related compliance efforts.
  • Relevant certifications: ITIL Foundation, Security+, MD-102/MD-100, Azure Administrator (AZ-104), or similar certifications.
  • Experience with automation/workflow tools (Power Automate, PowerShell) and AI-driven productivity tools (Copilot, etc.).
  • Experience supporting federal government contracts.
