- Calculate and process break penalty or premium pay where state law requires it.
- Track overtime, split shifts and minor work-hour limits, and alert managers before violations happen.
- Prepare a weekly break compliance report by store, highlighting trends and repeat issues.
- Help train store managers on break rules, scheduling for coverage and correct timekeeping.
- Visit stores for occasional spot checks of break practices and posted labor notices.
- Keep documentation of follow-ups and corrections in case of audits or wage claims.
Employee paperwork and records (about 20% of the role)
- Audit employee files for every store on a regular schedule, [monthly / quarterly], to confirm required paperwork is complete, signed and current.

- Track expiring documents, such as I-9 work authorizations, work permits for minors, and food handler or other required certifications, and follow up before they lapse.
- Collect signed acknowledgments of the employee handbook, break policy and other company policies.
- Process paperwork for status changes: promotions, pay changes, transfers between stores, leaves of absence and terminations.
- Work with store managers to collect missing or incomplete documents and keep a tracker of open items by store.
- Keep personnel, payroll and I-9 files stored securely and separately as required, and follow record retention rules.
- Help with office filing: sort, label and file paper and digital documents, keep filing systems organized, and scan or archive older records.
- Support onboarding, offboarding and general office tasks as needed.
Ad hoc projects and other duties
