About Ivy Green Preschool

Ivy Green Preschool is a new early childhood education center located in the heart of Wayland Square in Providence, Rhode Island. Serving children from 6 weeks through 5 years of age, our school provides a nurturing, academically enriched environment with a strong emphasis on early childhood development, health, and safety.

We are seeking a licensed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) to serve as our Health Care Consultant and support our compliance with Rhode Island Department of Human Services (DHS) child care licensing requirements.

This is a flexible, low-hour consulting opportunity ideal for an experienced pediatric healthcare professional interested in supporting early childhood education.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Ivy Green Preschool's designated Health Care Consultant in accordance with Rhode Island DHS requirements.
• Review and sign the required Health Care Consultant Letter of Understanding and applicable licensing documentation.
• Provide professional guidance to school administration regarding pediatric health, illness prevention, infection control, and general health and safety practices.
• Be available for occasional consultation by telephone, email, or virtual meeting.
• Provide guidance regarding infant and toddler health, safe sleep practices, allergies, and communicable illnesses as needed.
• Assist with reviewing health-related policies and procedures when requested.
• Provide occasional on-site consultation when mutually scheduled and necessary.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Rhode Island.
• Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification or demonstrated professional experience in pediatric medicine.
• Knowledge of infant, toddler, and early childhood health and development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to provide practical guidance to school leadership.
• Familiarity with Rhode Island DHS child care regulations preferred.

Compensation and Schedule

• $50–$75 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
• Flexible scheduling, up to a maximum of 10 hours per week.
• Primarily remote consultation with occasional on-site visits as needed.
• Hours will vary based on the school's consultation and licensing needs.
• No routine classroom staffing or daily nursing coverage required.
